≫ WHAT'S UP WITH GATEWAY ROLEPLAY? ≪

  • We've been radio silent for a long time now. We posted an announcement in our Discord server back in April of 2025, but never updated the forums. So what's up with Gateway Roleplay?

After 5 long years, we've decided to place the development of Ties That Bind on an indefinite hold.

This doesn't mean it's cancelled. We fully intend to run Ties That Bind: What Lies Beneath and Ties That Bind: City of Angels eventually. But to do so, we need to take a step back. In the meantime, we'll be working on smaller, invite-only projects.

Thank you to everyone who has stuck with us this long! MindGate and I (Pika) have been working on this server for over a decade now. It truly is a passion project for us.

III. Admin Rules

Admin Rules

Admin Rules

These are rules that all staff must follow.
They are posted here for full transparency to the players.

Leaks

  • Leaking lore details, support ticket contents, admin discussions, and anything otherwise not considered general public knowledge to anyone outside of staff is strictly prohibited.
    • This includes paraphrasing and ‘hints’; don’t spoil the excitement for the players.

  • The Lore Master, MindGate, is exempt from this rule and may share whatever lore details he’d like.

Lore Additions

  • All additions to the lore, whether they be in the form of NPCs, builds, or otherwise, must be expressly approved by the Lore Master before moving forward.
    • If the Lore Master is not available, then admins are expected to be patient and wait until they receive a response.
    • If you aren’t sure whether something is allowed, ask for permission.

Behavior & Conduct

  • Admins are expected to set an example to the players on how to behave both on the server and on the forums.

  • Adminning can be a very stressful job; if you feel the need, vent to your fellow team members about issues concerning the server instead of players.

  • Do not give special treatment to players you’re friends with.

  • You are allowed to perform your admin duties while on your player character, but keep in mind that your character is no more powerful than any other player character.
    • Your character will not be given plot armor or any other unfair advantages solely because you’re an admin.
