≫ WHAT'S UP WITH GATEWAY ROLEPLAY? ≪

  • We've been radio silent for a long time now. We posted an announcement in our Discord server back in April of 2025, but never updated the forums. So what's up with Gateway Roleplay?

After 5 long years, we've decided to place the development of Ties That Bind on an indefinite hold.

This doesn't mean it's cancelled. We fully intend to run Ties That Bind: What Lies Beneath and Ties That Bind: City of Angels eventually. But to do so, we need to take a step back. In the meantime, we'll be working on smaller, invite-only projects.

Thank you to everyone who has stuck with us this long! MindGate and I (Pika) have been working on this server for over a decade now. It truly is a passion project for us.

PLAYER NAME:
- SgtoSeryei

CHARACTER NAME(S):
- Recorder, Aklaq Scott

BAN LENGTH:
- Permanent

UNBAN DATE:
- N/A

ISSUER OF BAN:
- The Admin Team

REASON:
- Harassment Toward Other Players | Racism | Powergaming | Server Disruption | ADDED 02/02/2021: Ban Evasion, Incest
  • Seryei has a history of harassing female players. Multiple people have come forward regarding the situation, but they will not be named here in order to preserve their privacy. This was addressed in a ticket; however, Seryei denied all accusations. One victim has consented to their private chat logs being added below in order to document Seryei's behavior.
  • Seryei has made incredibly sexual comments about various characters on the server. Below are two screenshots provided by handmadeheaven in which Seryei expresses his desire to have his character perform sexual acts on multiple characters, including mentions of necropgilia.
  • Seryei's character, Aklaq Scott, is a racist caricature of an Indigenous person. He referred to him as "tribal," and named his signature weapons the "Tribal AK47" and a "Warclub." Seryei has openly admitted that he neglected to put the time into researching Inuit culture before playing Aklaq, because he "had no idea this was going to be so much of a trouble." Admittedly, this character should never have been accepted in the first player; however, it does not change Seryei's actions.
  • Additionally, while mocking the character Crystal Chen in another server, Seryei made a joke about his character Recorder referring to Crystal as "Chienne" instead of "Chen," butchering her Chinese last name for a joke.
  • Seryei has admitted to powergaming to gain an advantage because his character's faction was the only active faction during MindGate's time off dealing with COVID-19. This is unacceptable, regardless of the circumstances.
  • Seryei and MrMischief engaged in targeted harassment against fellow players of Gateway in the Discord in another PZRP server. This is against the rules, as mentioned in the final general guideline. The rule has been in effect for years prior to this situation.
  • Seryei and Maggie's characters, Recorder and Lux Bleue, are biological sisters. Nothing in either of their biographies says otherwise. Despite this, they have kissed on multiple occasions. The scenes were very sexually charged, and wholly inappropriate for the server. It was never explicitly stated in the rules that incest is disallowed before this incident—it was assumed to be a given.
  • The morning of 02/02/2021, Seryei created an alternate forum account in an attempt to evade his ban. This was caught by the forum's security.

Some more information has been brought to light and has been added accordingly. If anything else comes up, it'll be added as well.

I understand if you're skeptical of these claims because judging off of the screenshots alone without having known Seryei gives you little to no context. We're happy to discuss our reasoning more in-depth, and we won't be changing our decision on the matter.
