Closed Juniper's Imprisonment

Title: Juniper's Imprisonment
Character Name: Juniper

Hey, I'd like my character's situation in-game to be dealt with.

My character, Juniper, was arrested by Monroe officials on suspicion of being involved in the recent bombing. Auren and Juniper were the ones who set off the bombs because they were ordered to by Brighton for political reasons. As far as I understand, they have some evidence but not enough to reach a conclusion, and because of this, she has been held in jail ever since.

I was asked by staff to log onto Juniper last Sunday as there would be a trial. After I logged on, it was then decided that there would be no trial and instead Juniper would be handed off to a CPF diplomat. Due to in character actions, the CPF diplomat was murdered and I understand a whole event came of that. I understand why this held my character up, but regardless I had logged on with the expectation that Juniper would be dealt with, and instead, nobody interacted with her and I wasn't able to participate in the event that I was asked to join.

I understand that a solution to this would be to make two characters as Juniper's situation is being dealt with, however, I have limited free time already to play on this server. I've played multiple characters on this server in the past, and I don't like it because I feel as though I can't focus on all of my characters at once. Playing multiple characters makes it difficult for me as a player.

When I log onto Juniper I have to specifically request Monroe officials to RP with me. It's severely limiting, purely from a player perspective. She has been locked up for half the lore as of now, which is all time I could have spent being active on the server. No character should be imprisoned for this amount of time.

There is also another character, Noelle Lange, who I understand is locked up in the jail as well. I'm not her player, but I'm trying to emphasize that it's not enjoyable for any players to be blocked from RPing because of in character actions. Regardless of what happens to our characters, imprisonment should be dealt with as soon as possible. It limits the activity on the server and stifles any progression of the plot.

I'm available to play at most times this week besides Saturday (I have my SAT) and so I'd like whoever is involved in the situation to please be asked to log on so we can wrap this up and move on.

Edit: I should have clarified, I'm available Saturday night but not late Friday as my SAT is at 8am. If Saturday night works best for everyone, that works for me. My time zone is EST.

We'll try to do something about this IC with Marian and Avery tonight. If not tonight, then Saturday. We were going to last night, but Host wasn't able to get on.

I agree that it's completely unacceptable for her to have been imprisoned this long. Sure, I guess it makes sense IC, but OOC you are literally barred from playing your only character. At a certain point, it stops being fair.

In the future, when it comes to imprisoned characters, we'll try to figure out a better system so that there's more communication and it doesn't feel so much like an outright ban.

Hey, sorry for replying late.

This morning my test center has canceled the SAT because of the coronavirus. It's mostly good news because I can have more time to study and I'll have some free time tonight and tomorrow. If both of you are able to play tonight then I'd be able to join to wrap this up after all. If not, then we can just do it tomorrow still!

I felt bad submitting this ticket because I know both of you have other stuff going on, but I was hoping that it would lead to a rule change. I know that when any character is kidnapped or locked up then it can always cause problems. Any player that has a character in a situation like this has to restrict their playing time to whenever their captors are online, and while I understand it from an IC perspective, it will always stall progress. I'm lucky that most of the people involved are staff and not players in other time zones, because otherwise, I wouldn't be able to play at all.

I'm planning on temporarily retiring Juniper after this so I can focus on my new character and other stuff in my life. I'm not sure if it's been planned yet how we're going to leave it off, but I've had a few ideas:

• Juniper continues to stay locked up in Monroe, though she can still interact with the community. Mindgate mentioned in chat one day about a sort of prison labor system, and that could allow Juniper and any other current/future inmates a chance at RP.
• El Cid suggested that Juniper can be handed off to the CPF and they can conduct an off-screen trial.

Whichever way it goes, it's fine by me. Once I'm close to playing Juniper again I can make another support ticket so the staff can approve what happened with her. I'd imagine she'd be let out once it's discovered she's pregnant, but we can always work that out later. Thanks!
