Nye has a somewhat recently jaded personality as of late, but he still holds true to his values of helping those in need, believing fighting, zombies, and lack of technology and death can be sated by working together. He believes throwing the first bone and helping those by reaching out and offering assistance in exchange for other help, whether it be manpower, assistance with another group, or supplies to continue helping others. Though the loss of his parents and the truth he’s seen of other survivors, he is not naive, he knows that there are just some people out there that will betray you no matter how noble your intentions are.
He tries his best to reassure those around him, but he also knows how to say it straight, he knows there are more bad endings than good ones, but that won’t mean he won’t stop trying. He has seen many communities, both good and bad, and met many other survivors on his travels across the ravaged Americas, and understands just what people can accomplish if they just put their heads together and work together.
He advocates for unity often, and will often play the negotiator, trying to put everyone in the best odds with each other, unless someone is being obnoxious, then he will just do his best to keep relationships between people neutral at best, avoiding blood shed as much as possible. While not a true pacifist, he has killed, and is willing to kill for the safety of himself and those under his care, he will only resort to violence as a last resort.

He tries to keep his parents lifestyle alive, and continue to care and teach for those who need it, even with the death of his parents, he will continue to treat those in need, and use the skills he learned to help those in need. On top of that, the ability to help his friend Mark with his task of finding his sister is one he assists. Due to being rescued by Mark, he feels he owes him this, and helps him find her and track leads.
Physical Appearance
He is of a shorter stature, standing at around 5’5”, he has a somewhat slim build, but more slimed down in a cardio based build. He’s not bulky, but he is fast. He has well kept short black hair and is somewhat sporting a shallow plain skin tone. He has a set of green eyes to finish his facial looks. He suffered several semi-recent bullet wounds, leaving him with scars along his torso and left shoulder.

Biography
A young man raised meticulously by two well kept parents as their only child. Nye enjoyed a relatively great childhood, outside the semi-lack of attention from his parents due to their busy jobs, though they did their best to let him feel loved. He made due with this loneliness by being a model student in school, and making friends to help him out. He loved academics and was interested in biology and the health field considering the surroundings at home from his parents. He did great in school until the worse occurred, the end of civilization itself.
The end of the world as he knew was quite a large amount of whiplash, but he did his best to listen to his parents wishes as they all kept together as a family surviving the worst of it. In the early years the parents did their best to help evac shelters, save those below them, and use their skills to save lives, but the chaos and ensuing collapse of structure made it too difficult, and the parents had to focus on keeping each other alive and their young child, Nye. Nye had to quickly switch gears from living a normal childhood to surviving in a horrible world filled with the undead and desperate survivors.
In the beginning it was primarily hiding and sneaking around, listening to his parents every word, while learning good abilities such as looting, using his small size to get into hard to reach locations, and treating injuries and learning about medicine, food rationing, and other skills. Living on the outskirts of the city they lived in, Nye lived a semi-peaceful routine of looting homes, treating those who were still alive, primarily staying home and learning other skills, such as gardening, foraging, and using tools and weapons, primarily small things such as knives. Once he was an older teenager, he went out more on scavenging runs with his father and assisted more intensely with medical work with his mother.
However, less and less friendly survivors came by, and their popularity attracted less than valuable patients, and soon the family had to leave their home and escape the clutches of desperate survivors trying to take advantage of the family’s kindness.
They travelled east, by travelling with an RV that they used for their mobile home. Along the way they still did their best to treat and help those in need, and stopped by communities and settlements on the way, exchanging their skills and abilities for supplies. On top of that they would live off the land or scavenge nearby ruins of civilization, leading to one strange road trip. Nearly a decade of surviving this way, their lifestyle of nomadic doctors would not last forever, as not everyone would let such an opportunity go to waste. A gang of undesirable survivors had blocked the path of the family and surrounded them, demanding everything they had, as well as their services by force. The family refused and paid a hefty price for their denial. The ensuing gun fight had resulted in Nye’s father dying, and the fatal injuries sustained to his mother. In her dying breaths, she managed to distract the group while the injured Nye managed to crawl away from the clutches of the group.
However, with the gunshot injuries he sustained in the gun fight, Nye had barely managed to patch himself up before he passed out from blood loss and a broken leg from falling down a hill. He would have died if he wasn’t fatefully rescued by a wandering survivalist by the name of Mark Smithers.
Nye awakes after being unconscious for an extended period of time within a secluded cabin long abandoned in the woods surrounding the area. There he meets his savior, a lone survivor whose mission in life is to find his missing sister. He learns thereafter that his parents did not survive the fight and must live with the grief and loss of his parents. He spends a good amount of time recovering from both his physical injuries as well as his mental ones with the help of Mark to keep him going. The optimism of the strange individual helped him cope while also seeing how much Mark went through to keep Nye healthy, using his natural remedies that even Nye did not know about.
Feeling indebted to Mark and all he did for Nye, once Nye was in a semi-healed position, he decided to stick with Mark and help him find his sister, which would take his journey instead North to New York State, to a location called Monroe County, where Mark was following a new lead on his little sister. Nye used his parent’s teachings of medicine and his new chance at life to assist Mark and continue forward.
