≫ WHAT'S UP WITH GATEWAY ROLEPLAY? ≪

  • We've been radio silent for a long time now. We posted an announcement in our Discord server back in April of 2025, but never updated the forums. So what's up with Gateway Roleplay?

After 5 long years, we've decided to place the development of Ties That Bind on an indefinite hold.

This doesn't mean it's cancelled. We fully intend to run Ties That Bind: What Lies Beneath and Ties That Bind: City of Angels eventually. But to do so, we need to take a step back. In the meantime, we'll be working on smaller, invite-only projects.

Thank you to everyone who has stuck with us this long! MindGate and I (Pika) have been working on this server for over a decade now. It truly is a passion project for us.

What sort of authorization do you want?
Lore Information

What lore information would you like to be authorized to know?
I would like to write a story detailing the dropped bug monster cave threat. This was built-up through in-game vision/dream events by Aza's spirit character and I feel it would be a let-down to just leave it unanswered. My plan would be to write some background information describing vision events that already happened, where the spirit character pulled Kaari and other characters into a dream to detail the threat of bug invasion. I might add in some flashback backstory about Kaari's family and their spirit-related advice. Then I would write Kaari crafting her Dreamweaver spear and using it in a subsequent action scene dream sequence to kill off a mastermind bug queen to end or delay the impending bug invasion. As a finale, I would potentially add in a farewell to the Night Eye character and possibly a menacing 'after credits Thanos' scene of the Man in Red watching over the preceedings with interest.
