Public reports are scattered; a rough estimate of the casualty number has managed to seep out; it's in the hundreds, the last estimated number is around 189 dead from the bombing, and numerous more from the upheaval of Red-Eye attacks within the walls of the city. The Rangers are deploying extermination teams to Alcove and Memorial District (two sites of the bombings) but response time has been slowed due to the attack on their office and the lack of clear leadership. It's become apparent to the public, given the lack of statement, and the location of the third bombing that Chief Ranger Monroe is missing, as is Head Councilor Korshunov. A report has been leaked from the office stating that Councilman Leclair Mercier has stepped in as interim Head Councilor and will be making an announcement in the coming days.
Additionally. It's been said that the perpetrators behind the attack may have come from the inside. It was previously unheard of for any sort of threat to penetrate defenses and get into the Ranger Field Office. An organization is being rumored as being behind the attack; the Inner-Cities Liberation Front. Grafitti has been spread across numerous areas within the slums, the people in charge of the said organization remain unknown. There is speculation the attack may be in direct response to a siege laid on a free public health clinic in the dead of night known as the Karanda. It was formed three years ago in response to growing health concerns in the slums due to factory pollution, work-place injuries, and so on, as health-care down there isn't so great. Any attempts in finding information as to why a siege was laid on it are difficult, most stories that covered it (and not many did) states it was a response to a "disruption of public peace" and turned violent after several "dissidents" opened fire on Coalition City Guard and RIG officials.
It's another drop of water in a big pond of cover-ups from the Coalition. Raymond has no doubt heard of countless other incidents similar to this, and the conspiracy theories from those in the slums ranging from it being a method of population control to them doing it for sport. There's usually little to no information on these incidents, but the reports remain the same; disruptions of the public peace, citizens spreading anti-CPF ideals, or any number of other acts that may be pointed to potential rebellion.
