≫ WHAT'S UP WITH GATEWAY ROLEPLAY? ≪

  • We've been radio silent for a long time now. We posted an announcement in our Discord server back in April of 2025, but never updated the forums. So what's up with Gateway Roleplay?

    After 5 long years, we've decided to place the development of Ties That Bind on an indefinite hold.

    This doesn't mean it's cancelled. We fully intend to run Ties That Bind: What Lies Beneath and Ties That Bind: City of Angels eventually. But to do so, we need to take a step back. In the meantime, we'll be working on smaller, invite-only projects.

    Thank you to everyone who has stuck with us this long! MindGate and I (Pika) have been working on this server for over a decade now. It truly is a passion project for us.

Hello! I would like to present you with the following situation I have ran into and I would like your approval before proceeding:

So Terry has this plan - that I am fairly sure you have been let known of - to use evidences against the Millers and Crystal in order to make Monroe what it was, safe and actually neutral. Recorder has been helping her cause of her own reasons and has already given physical proofs against the Millers. Now proofs against Crystal has been asked for and there is pretty much no one other than Erick who has this information.

The problem lies on the fact that the information Erick has was given by Henry before leaving. Now the reasons why Recorder would go to Erick for information is because: a) They are close and trust eachother and, b) Recorder knows that the person to go to for information in the Barrens is Erick, so if someone has this information is him.

I haven't commented this to Alex cause it is only wise to ask for approval on this first. Let me know if I am good to go asap please, so Terry is not put at the stake without a chance.

Sorry for the late response! I wanted to wait for a second opinion, but no one ever responded so I'm just going to answer myself.

In my opinion, this isn't storycrossing. Storycrossing is defined as one of your characters directly providing another with information that you use to your advantage. Yes, Henry is the one that informed Erick of Crystal, but it isn't going to be Henry who tells Recorder. It would be Erick, who just so happens to have been told this information by Henry. It would be the same if Preston had told Erick, or even Max.

Not to mention, since sending this ticket Recorder has asked Max to speak to Erick and gain information instead of going herself. If you do still decide to go ahead and have Recorder ask, there'd be nothing wrong with that.
