Personality
Mary Milner was kneading dough when chaos rang out from the barn being raised by the men. Dough kneading was how she got her rage out when there was a conflcit between her and other women or her and her husband. She'd soon find that she'd have many other ways to allow her rage to leave her quaking hands as the imminent change in lifestyle to meet the challenge of the sinners who have been reanimated by the will of God would serve that function well.
She's a hard woman, stubborn regarding the authority her biblical interpretation, she was a mother and that loss clings to her though she'll rarely volunteer it. She has leadership qualities though they are largely enclosed in memories of past losses, so she'd likely stray from that for now.
Character Motivations
She had a vision to create a home on a hill, a safe harbor from the abominations walking the earth and a place of solitary moral rectitude. She dreams of an earth cleansed and all who survive are the Righteous.
Physical Appearance
A tall woman, six feet without any heels. She has a plain, hard, face, a strong nose and thin lips. She's not attractive conventionally but she's also not ugly. When she's impassioned her face livens and the angles in her face sharpen, making any hell-bound tirade much more scary.

Biography
Mary Milner was born in a rather small Mennonite offshoot in Eastern Pennsylvania. This was largely not recognized by other Anabaptist organizations as it was quite small and had doctrine that could be construed as unusual.
Mary was frankly always a bit of a bother, she could be heard bothering the men who argued biblical doctrine, bothering the women about their cross stitches, bothering the children about their bad habits and bothering God himself for hours and hours in prayer.
When the chaos broke out, her endless nagging was forced to become action. She had lead the women and children from the overrun homesite after the men failed to protect them and on the long journey to safety each and every one of them died or split from the group at different junctures despite Mary's impassioned speeches claiming her vision of One Home on One Hill.
Her bible in tow, Mary has found where God has asked he to go, but must find the home and must till the land.
Mary believes she has found the land which she was destined to go and it is now time for her to prepare a place for her daughter and her flock. She believes her daughter will lead the flock to the home she prepares.

- Mary the Teacher: In the first five years of the outbreak, Mary assumed the role of the schoolteacher of the group, herding the children, ensuring they knew when to be quiet as the group passed through cities. When the group of women and children made their way to another Mennonite community, Lake Shore Village, a place well mixed with desperate outsiders, she ensured that the children weren't corrupted by the beliefs of the outsiders or the mainstream Mennonites who inhabited the place. This lead to more than one disagreement with camp leadership.
- Mary the Preacher: The previous five years would be undoubtedly the most peaceful despite it's proximity to the Fall; the next would begin to worsen the tensions. The children grew older and Mary left more and more of the educational responsibilities to her daughter Dinah. Dinah was around sixteen when Mary left the school-mistress role and began to proselytize . Mary knew that the men in her community had all been killed and the role of a school-mistress is only able to spread the Good Word to so many little ears. As a preacher in Lake Shore, she gave firebrand speeches remarking in grave detail the offenses that lead to the Fallen World they inhabited. This of course was not very popular among both the outsiders nor the community leaders.
- Mary the Prophet: Mary had found herself at odds with the Church Fathers of Lake Shore. When the Church Fathers wanted to install generators on site in the community, that was the final straw for Mary and her merry band. Having lived there and grown a flock of adherents, she lead them all to protest the installation of the devices that would undoubtedly call down the Lord's wrath. In the protest, Dinah was injured and along with Mary and her flock, they were exiled wandering from farm to farm for years until the visions Mary has at night began to drive them north.
Mary believes she has found the land which she was destined to go and it is now time for her to prepare a place for her daughter and her flock. She believes her daughter will lead the flock to the home she prepares.
