Biography
Jackson Marsh, better known as Jack by the people closest to him, is from Stone Reach, Texas. He was born to a single mother who battled addiction for most of Jack's childhood. The two bounced from house to house due to his mother's inability to keep a steady job, and the fact that most of their money was spent on things like cigarettes, drugs, and alcohol.
When Jackson was nine, his mother became pregnant again. Unlike most children, Jack was terrified of the idea of his mother bringing another life into this world when she could barely take care of the one she already had. Toward the end of the pregnancy, the Marsh family found themselves homeless. Sleeping on the benches of bus stops, and staying at Women's Centers throughout the city.
Jack's teachers began to notice a slip in his attendance, and how the once-thriving student began to fall behind academically. The staff compiled a report, and Child Protective Services were called. Jackson was removed from his mother's care - as well as his sibling after their birth.
He spent his teenage years in and out of foster care, moving to various homes of those who only "took care" of children for the benefit.
At the age of 15, Jackson was caught and charged with grand theft auto after stealing the car of his foster father to go on a joy ride. Jackson spent a year in juvenile detention. Upon being released, he was sent back to the same foster family he had stolen the car from. The family began to neglect, and abuse him as much as they pleased - specifically the father.
Soon after his 17th birthday, Jackson had come in late from hanging out with some friends to be greeted by his foster parents in the living room. They questioned his whereabouts, which Jackson did not give them an answer to. This caused the father to fly into a fit of rage. He struck Jackson across the face with enough force to crack his jaw. Enough was enough. Jackson fought him back, breaking objects throughout the house in the scuffle. The mother called the police and told them Jackson was intoxicated and had assaulted her husband. He was charged as an adult with aggravated assault, and given 3 years in prison for his crime.
Jack managed to receive his GED while incarcerated and kept his nose clean while he was there allowing him to be released 4 months early on good behavior. Since his release, he has managed to get in contact with an old friend named Monty, who has been allowing him to crash at his place for a few hundred dollars every month. Jack began to work at the local mechanic shop as an apprentice while he figured out what his next move was.
Little did he know, that his next move would be trying to survive the apocalypse.
