Personality
Santiago is a patient person, usually listening to a conversation first before speaking. Typically blunt as he sees it’s the quickest way to do things, and doesn’t think the truth needs to be sugar coated. However, he will lie to subvert the truth if he has too. Around his family he’s playful, sarcastic, and would protect them from others if needed. Santiago can be aggressive towards others, giving off a crude impression of him.
Due to his parent’s death, he’s begun to reflect whether their deaths were inadvertently his doing leaving him feeling guilty and also suppressed anger toward himself for not being able to do anything to stop it. Even though he’s committed crimes, doesn’t mean he’ll do bad things to innocent people. He must feel the need to steal or beat someone up, not just for the heck of it. At the moment, his only goals are to protect his siblings and figure out how to move on with life.
Physical Appearance
Santiago stands at 5’8 with a caramel complexion, and short black hair that is usually a buzz cut. His facial features are sharp, possess brown eyes, and a trimmed Van **** goatee along his jaw. Physically sturdy build with developed muscles, although more bulky than lean. Both arms are marked in a sleeve of ink all the way to his back, though he usually keeps it covered up by a long shirt-sleeved shirt and Texas Rangers Jacket. A gold chain dangles from his neck, attached to it is a golden four leaf clover pendant. Usually is wearing a pair of Velcro sneakers and blue jeans held up by a generic black belt.

Biography
Santiago Alvarez was born on October 10th, 1991 in El Paso, Texas to a family of immigrants, his mother was a waitress and father a mechanic. Unlike his sister Carmen, Santiago paid little attention to automotives but instead found passion through the Drama Club. Even though he was bullied, he had his sister protecting him, well until his sister graduated and enlisted in the United States Army. Once Carmen was gone, Santiago endured the unrelenting aggression of the bullies. This seemingly endless oppression pushed him to join a band of delinquents that would protect him, which would inevitably lead Santiago to a path of crime in the future. These Delinquents were Paco, George, and Miguel.
At first it started out as simple favors, however as time went on more was demanded from Santiago by the delinquents such as sneaking weed into the school for the group to eventually selling it to the students for profit. Due to these illicit activities, Santiago quit the Drama club as it could risk exposing him even though it emotionally hurt him to do so. These dealings went on until Santiago graduated from High School, and luckily he was never found out due to the faculties negligence faculty. Later after graduation, Paco convinced Santiago to join a gang that his brother was apart of, because they would be able to make loads of money if they did. Although he was hesitant, Santiago agreed since at the time he did enjoy that sense of unity being apart of a group. Santiago was soon after initiated into the gang, thus getting himself inked with a burning bull skull tattoo across his back.
Being apart of the gang toughened up Santiago not only physically, but emotionally as well as showing weakness could be dangerous around other gangs. For protection, Santiago illegally acquired a firearm on the streets. The gang also was involved with trafficking drugs for the Gulf Cartel from suppliers, something Santiago did often for the gang. Through these illegal dealings he made cash to buy things such as a Chevalier Cossette, along with bling. Even though Santiago trafficked drugs, he never did anything more than marijuana due to seeing how destructive it was to addicts. Keeping Santiago’s gang affiliation a secret from his family was no easy task, constantly having to watch what evidence he leaves behind and making up lies to his family.
Although there were times he made mistakes in hiding the truth from his family, he managed to clean up his mess for a time. Except for a close call once, when the supplier got cold feet and was about to snitch on Santiago and other gang members doings. Santiago was worried that he’d go to prison, that his family would alienate him! But the Canary would be snuffed out by another rival gang, thus preventing Law Enforcement to catch wind of these dealings and giving Santiago peace of mind that his secret is now safe. Just a year before the new world came to be, Santiago received a call from the police which had worried him due to living a criminal life. His worries were quickly replaced with grief upon hearing of his parents' apparent death due to carbon monoxide poisoning.
The death of Santiago’s parents caused Santiago to become incredibly angry at himself, as he wasn’t sure if there death was an accident, or indirectly caused by him due to his gang relations. He couldn’t confide in his sister as she was a Law Enforcement Officer and would probably arrest him if she found out. So once the world had begun to turn for the worse with this new affliction, Santiago met up with his siblings to stay together in this approaching hard times.
