Joseph at first glimpse appears to be nothing more than a nerdy, meek kid lost in his own world and vices. It isn’t difficult to completely overlook him, or not notice him in a room from a mixture of his bad social graces, and lack of a desire to communicate with strangers.
That, however, with most people is not the full story. Joseph has a monster within him ready to be released at any given moment, a well of untapped charisma and potential. He has slowly over the years regained a hidden degree of self-confidence and egotism through his online persona that is waiting at the seams, ready to be torn out and embraced. In his new-found environment, that could be at any moment from when people pull him from the safety of his home and to the outside world - and what awaits for him is not a pretty sight.
Physical Appearance
Joseph Thompson is your stereotypical description of a man lost to his own vices, in his case, internet culture and depression. He stands on the taller side at six-foot with young facial features, tired, sunken eyes, long brown hair and a stubble befitting that of a teenager.
He has immense damage to his left hand and side from being exposed to fire, not to mention several other scars from varying degrees of abuse from his abusers. Most of this damage is usually covered by his array of clothing which is nothing fashionable to say the last. He isn’t usually seen outside of a faux-military jacket, T-Shirts, or jeans. It’s rare, but you can sometimes find him wearing some pieces of jewelry inherited, or given to him by his father. The usual suspects being a silver bracelet inherited from his father, or a Saint Michael’s pendant with a poem regarding his father on the back, the last gift he ever received from his father before his death.

Biography
Joseph Matthew Thompson was born on October 26th, 1999 in Danville, Kentucky to two carpet layers. The initial years of his childhood were filled with good memories shared by his loving parents. It wasn’t until the age of seven that his life went down a downward spiral. At the end of his second year of school, he was the victim of a house fire that left his left-hand and left-side badly scarred. From then on, he developed an immense fear of fire, naturally choosing to avoid it completely. It was by his third school-year that his life went down the drain. He became a victim of mental, physical, and sexual abuse at the hands of three different teachers. He was pulled out by the end of the year where he would withhold the information regarding his abuse for the rest of his life. Joseph would spend the duration of his middle-school and high-school years at an electronic school with minimal social interactions with the outside world. He started spending his newfound immense amounts of time on writing and learning how to draw following in the footsteps of his older half-brother.
Joseph managed to adapt to his new lifestyle, even though he was struggling with immense depression. His home life improved drastically, as did his relationship with both his mother and father for the first year. As a result, he became a homebody with no real desire to interact with anything outside of his home. He found a new life on the internet, a new flamboyant persona, interest, and friends he hadn’t had prior. He exaggerated everything about himself, creating a character and larger than life personality that many people found appealing, and desired to interact with on a personal level.
On the verge of turning seventeen, Joseph’s father became ill. He first was diagnosed with cancer shortly after his younger brother's death, and would later beat it. The next couple of months would seem immensely hopeful before he yet again, developed an unknown illness. Both he and his mother would take care of him until it became too much of a burden for an already elderly woman, and an incompetent teenager incapable of medical aid, or proper etiquette for caring for a sickly elder. His father would be registered into a nursing home for the next couple of months, before being pulled out after being abused by nursing staff. It was around this time that Joseph stepped up and started trying to better himself, focusing on his school-work and father, but it would eventually prove to be futile. Madison Thompson would be admitted at the hospital for his last time, and pass away from organ failure two weeks later after having his life-support systems pulled. Joseph protested the decision, believing his father capable of pulling through.
Joseph was left in a state of devastation, completely lost. It was as if his entire world was ripped away from him and shredded to pieces. He coped by focusing on his writing and ignoring the world around himself, his relationship with his mother became strained all the way up to his nineteenth year. She left to head out-of-state to visit her mother and talk about receiving a loan to help the current situation improve. While she was gone, whispers of an outbreak started to flood the internet. He became obsessed with the news, following it closely for the coming week until all hell broke loose. Since then, he’s laid low in his house, watching Star Trek re-runs on DVD with the remaining gas in his generator.
