Character Name
Willy Monroe
I Agree
Yes
Has this character appeared in a previous lore?
No
Age
22
Personality
Willy is a completely amoral person, having been brainwashed by Travis at a particularly vital yet vulnerable point in his life. He does, however, have some shred of decency left in him - and if he's presented the opportunity, he will spare a young child, for instance.
Physical Appearance
Willy appears to be around 5'10 with a relatively average build. He has a head of blonde hair combed into a low quiff, a stubble of similar color decorating his face. Blue eyes complete the picture.
He wears surplus military equipment, a pair of UCP trousers on his legs tucked into a pair of combat boots, a similarly styled jacket underneath his kevlar vest and ALICE webbing, most of it dirtied and bleached by the sun. He does not look like he belongs in it.

Biography
Willy Monroe was never a popular child. Growing up in a trailer park in Fort Stockton, Texas to two meth heads, he struggled for everything he had - what little it was. The poverty of his early years, the constant bullying, as well as his parent's neglect shaped his world view into one more spiteful than your average bear - hatred for those better off than him, disdain for the federal government and the law, etcetera.
In his teenage years, Willy was prone to intense bouts of depression - and with the depression, violence. While scrawny, he knew where to hit to make the machine go jackpot - landing him in juvy when he was just fourteen, another bout was soon to follow at sixteen, after a particularly violent outburst against a Mexican immigrant - dubbed a 'hate crime' by the authorities. Willy, however, stayed in school - whatever one would have him, at least. It was when he failed to graduate and was forced to stay back a year he decided enough was enough, and dropped out. He contemplated suicide, as both of his junkie parents were dropouts - and he didn't want to fall into their old routines.
Where there is darkness, however, comes light. On one particular late night of message board browsing, Willy found himself in a chat with several like-minded individuals, ones with real muscle to back up their ideals. With nothing left to lose, he set off to join this militia - meeting their leader, Travis at a dive bar late at night. It didn't take long for Willy to be completely sold on the idea - living off of the land, not responding to any higher authority than your own two hands; it seemed like everything he had wanted for the past few years in one convenient old man.
It had been four years since he joined the paramilitary group when the world collapsed. Willy spent the early part of the outbreak as he had the past few years - patrolling the border, keeping the 'scum' out; it's what he had been trained to do by his new family. They carved a man from the shell of the boy that was, and for that - he was eternally grateful to Travis especially.
