Blood Type

Personality
Asher has already always been a standoffish person, and adding an apocalypse to the mix didn't make matters any better. He has a cruel and sarcastic sense of humor with a sharp tongue to accompany it. If Asher isn't a fan of yours, he will be sure to make it known. He isn't one to stray away from conflict either, and definitely falls under being "hot-headed." Despite his general discontent with most things, he can be a team player. Asher is always willing to help out his group for the betterment of their (and his) survival. If alone, Asher will not take unnecessary risks to fight the dead. However, if he finds himself trapped with another human being he will do whatever he can to save both of them - unwilling to leave someone to die.
Character Motivations
Asher would do anything to get in contact with his family back in Seattle as he's aware making the trip home would be a death sentence. He wants to find a place to belong (though he'll never admit it) in a time of crisis and have a place he believes he can rest his head without it being torn off.
Physical Appearance
Asher is eighteen years old, and Korean-American. He stands at 6'3" and weighs roughly 140lbs. Asher has medium length black hair that he pushes to one side or parts down the middle, dark brown eyes, and fair skin. He isn't particularly muscular but seems to be in good physical health.

Biography
Asher Black was born in Seattle, Washington to two loving parents who would have given him the world on a silver platter. His father was a police officer, and his mother was a stay at home mom with his two older sisters. Life was perfect. The Black family appeared to the world around them as if they were cut out of a Better Home and Garden magazine.
Growing up, Asher had a difficult relationship with his sister Riley who was only a year and a half older than him. She was an incredibly jealous little girl and would throw fits at every little thing Asher did. This resulted in many fights and avoidable arguments throughout the years that were always seemingly broken up by oldest sister, Quinn. His relationship with Quinn had always been calmer as she was an especially gentle person. His parent's response to Riley's behavior never helped the situation much either. They frequently swept the matters under the rug instead of acknowledging there was a problem to begin with.
The year Asher turned fourteen would be the worst year of his life. Asher always knew that his father worked a dangerous job. Like any young boy, he thought his father was invincible. He was a hero. He had to be, right? A call had come in about an attempted robbery and Officer Black was the one to answer. He was completely unprepared for the situation that would unfold. Shots rang out until one found it's way into his femur. The injury permanently damaged Asher's father's ability to walk and forced him into early retirement.
The recovery was long and hard. It took a toll on the entire family. Matters only worsened when his father turned to the bottle instead of finding his way into a therapy session. He became argumentative and spiteful. Spewing words of hate at just about anyone within earshot. His relationship with not only his wife but his children as well was practically not existent by years end.
The sudden shift in family life hit Asher hard. He had previously been outgoing and enjoyed the time he spent with his friends. The only thing he could think to do was isolate himself while he tried to process everything that was happening. He couldn't understand his father's choice, and he wasn't sure he wanted to. The change affected his sisters as well. Quinn was quieter than ever, and Riley was ready to argue at a moment's notice.
The three children had no idea that their struggle would only get harder when their father's violence turned deadly and took their mother from them. In a fit of rage, Asher's father took his wife's life in a brutal attack. The murder shook their community. The once-respected family had been thrown into a media frenzy. Local news stations covered everything about the case down to the sentencing.
His father was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. And for Asher, that would ever begin to be enough. He was angry. He felt betrayed. His entire life was ripped from underneath him. He had become a shell of the person he once was.
Quinn couldn't bear to see her siblings put into the system and took over parental responsibility at the young age of 21. She has put her blood, sweat, and tears into raising her siblings to be good people in light of their father's shortcomings. Despite everything she'd been through herself, she remained kind-hearted and gave Asher and Riley her all.
High school was rough enough as it was and his situation only made it worse. It was like everyone was waiting for him to snap. Watching him like he was some sort of oddity. Though no one would directly come forth and say anything, he always heard the whispers.
Quinn became insistent that Asher find a way to take up his spare time instead of locking himself in his room to hide away from the cruel world. It was her pushing that led him to find his one true passion. Track.
Track became the only thing that allowed Asher to escape from his harsh realities and he poured every bit of himself into it. It wasn't long until his grades started to pick up, and he seemed to loosely resemble the person he used to be. By senior year, his team was practically his family and he'd made varsity. He even met a girl through his passion. She was another member of the team, and her name was Lily.
His team was given an opportunity to travel to Lousiville to participate in a charity marathon where all proceed would be donated to women's shelters around the country. The team was well aware of the situations going on around the world but had faith that things would be handled accordingly. They didn't anticipate the state of Kentucky to be shut down.
Things went from bad to worse quickly. Asher's coach instructed everyone to stay in their rooms until he gave them the okay to leave. The children were panicking. They could hear the screams outside, and the sound of people looting. There was a loud and frightened knock at Asher's hotel door. It was his girlfriend, Lily. She had her bag packed and she was ready to run. There was only one thing missing- Asher.
She begged and pleaded until he caved. He couldn't handle the idea of her being in this madness alone. He wasn't sure what it would mean for him to follow her out into the insanity. His life flashed before his eyes as he opened the door in that hotel lobby. There was only one thing he could think to do. He grabbed Lilly's hand and ran.
