Personality
Tends to not think things entirely though, so is prone to making spur of the moment decisions with little preparation behind them. Really a "Let's just jump right into it, and come up with a plan as we go along!" carefree kinda guy. This goes hand in hand with a relative sense of optimism and general friendliness. He likes to play nice with others, though tends to quickly back off if met with aggression. That goes hand in hand with his preference to usually take the path of least resistance unless he REALLY wants something. And to build on the carefree nature mentioned earlier, while he definitely tries to pretend or insist that there's no reason to panic or worry: if there very clearly is, he will absolutely worry to hell and back and make himself sick on that anxiety. The idea of him usually preferring the easiest path goes with conflict. He's not brave, so is unlikely to stand up in to fight that doesn't look like he'll easily win. He may stick up for others if it's clear something immoral is going down, though if he's pushed back on it much (physically or vocally) he'll back down to preserve himself. Usually. He hasn't had the opportunity to truly stand up for and defend someone he values a great deal, like best friends or family, so it'd be a big conflict for him to do something like that. Maybe something brave would arise though, but probably not.
Character Motivations
Currently, his motivations are to try to find some way to pay off the debts of his new car. As things progress, it'll probably move towards self-preservation. As mentioned, he likes to play nice with others and take the path of least resistance, so once he finds himself in a very bad situation the man will probably seek out either a safe group of people, or a safe hole to hide in.
Physical Appearance
Small stature, standing at around 5'9" and not rocking too much muscle at all. "Slim" would be an alright way of putting it, but the man just doesn't really exercise like most Americans. Though he's good at dieting and cooking for himself, so he's not overweight; probably a little underweight if anything. Soft body in the labor sense, as he's not done too much in his life to build that up; definitely a city-boy type.

Biography
Born on April 3rd 1976, Roland Culwicky was almost destined to have a free ride through life. His father (Garry Culwicky) was a top-class criminal defense attorney and his mother (Martha Hangston) was a stay at home mother for him and his elder sister of two years (Maria Culwicky). The family had their roots in upstate New York for the past few generations, so they were all decently wealthy, if not rich. His father was generally absent due to the consuming nature of his work, but certainly wasn't a bad father. It just left his mother to do most of the child-raising, so both Roland and Maria generally absorbed their mothers teachings, leaving them kinder and possibly "softer" than many others, and making them both relative pushovers in school when bullies came about. But it was never too awful, they went through elementary, middle, and high school without any worries, being able to afford the best private tutors when needed. They had lavish family parties, enjoyed all the newest toys and entertainments as they grew up, and were doted on by their parents.
As they approached adulthood, Maria was allowed to go to college or stay at home and find a husband, but Roland HAD to go to college. Maria chose to find a husband, and Roland begrudgingly went to Harvard. A life of rich comforts had very much attached him to a carefree lifestyle, and he didn't really want to do all this extra work just to do more work. But, familial pressure but him into a business degree, which he earned with some struggle. During college, he'd very often try to just do what was fun instead of what was needed for studies.
Post graduation, Roland began a very long string of taking up jobs that he thought would be interesting, then dropping them after a few months. All adventurous stuff, and all supported by dad's money. For example, working as a tour guide for SCUBA dives, joining and dropping out of a police academy, trying out several mundane companies, working as a ranger in a national park, and so on, all while moving around the country. As said, all of these were done no longer than a year, so he's a sort of master of none, and not quite a Jack, but more of a 6 of a good few trades. His father got pretty fed up with that as he felt it was much too irresponsible to not just settle down with a proper career choice, but Roland kept doing it. So at age 28, his father cut off all money to him.
And as that happened, Roland had finished up flight school for helicopters. He quickly realized that his predicament would saddle him with this job if he didn't want to risk a total loss of money, and chose to stick with it. So for the next nine odd years, he's been a helicopter pilot, and enjoying it decently; though he still craves the utter freedom his family's money provided. His most recent placement had him in small-town Muldraugh, Kentucky, working for a local news station as the "eye in the sky". Or rather, the pilot for the eye in the sky.
About five months before all this mess of an outbreak happened, he purchased a rather old muscle car in very good condition. This was something he did often, make extravagant purchases just for fun, like the newest tech or choosing to rent the nicest apartment. But for the past nine years, he hadn't been able to do that due to the lack of income from a rich family. Or at least, not without repercussions. So he went ahead and bought it without really thinking it through, ie, "How am I going to be able to pay for this and rent without dad's money?". And when the bills started rolling in, he asked his father. He said no.
So, Roland panicking over the bank threatening to repossess much of his property (his nice new car included) and his father denying to send more much needed money snapped the man out of his usual careless attitude towards the serious issues of his life. And when the riots began in Kentucky; he participated. He thought that if he could just get a handful of thousands of dollars, he could pace out the payments to a level where he COULD satisfy the bank. But it didn't work out that way. An inexperienced and much too soft man like Roland practically stumbled into a shop and before he could even pocket some valuables, was held at gunpoint by the owner who came down from the second floor. He bargained and begged, but didn't try to run, having never felt this kind of fear before. And then the police came and tossed him in a cell. Probably a bad place to be as the shit hits the fan, especially for something so trivial as being an idiot with your money.
Would you like your character to start with any items?
Keys to the 1965 Pontiac GTO model of car in Filibuster Rhymes' Used Cars mod. Wallet with spare change/bills. Credit card. Cell phone if in mod. I'm fine with all three being in the police evidence locker or something.
Note on the car. It doesn't have to be somewhere in Muldraugh. It can be anywhere on the map, I don't care. And in any state. Maybe it was pulverized or stolen in the looting. It doesn't even HAVE to be spawned. Key's really just there for flavor.
Would you like to opt-out of randomized starting groups?
No
Is your character a member of a group application?

Group Members
I mean I answered no, but I was told there was a group starting out in the Muldraugh PD cells, which is what I think fits ideally.
