Biography
Born in September, 1987, Jordan was brought into the world under a well-off middle class family residing in Louisville, Kentucky. However, in 1991 during a family outing to a large lake while on holiday, Jordan's father drowned after slipping and hitting his head on a rock along a cliff face above the lake. By the time he was able to be pulled from the lake, it was already too late. Jordan became energetically passionate with sports as he grew up and developed a particular passion towards swimming, often standing out among his peers. By 12 years old he was well on his way to becoming a professional sports star, despite the conditions of his fathers tragic death that continues to stick with him until this day.
While still excelling within the swimming sport, Jordan was also determined to do well in his academics and, while not achieving ground breaking results in his classes, did well enough to receive decent grades. After graduating from high school, Jordan was able to acquire his first job at a sports training center as an assistant trainer in 2005. It was also here where he got into his first relationship with one Kelsie Bell, an 18 year old junior assistant who had also recently joined to help train younger athletics. While the two had immediately hit it off, the relationship only lasted around a year and a half before it fell apart due to both their lives going separate directions. Despite this however, the both of them keep in regular contact and remain good friends. Following his break up with Kelsie, Jordan focused all his attention on his training and was eventually qualified into a regional swimming competition in late 2006, which he brought home a gold medal. More importantly, a wealthy benefactor whom was on the look out for aspiring and promising candidates to represent Kentucky on a national and potentially international level. Jordan was quick to accept the offer and began training for national competitions almost immediately.
In 2008, Jordan took part in the US National Swimming Championships, once again taking home first place with flying colors. This not only brought a significant amount of attention from the press but also from the US National Swimming Team captain that sought to bring Jordan onto the team to represent them on an international level, including at the Olympics. While Jordan had been overjoyed with the thought of going to the Olympics, he was still aware of the struggle he would have to face ahead of him to achieve this goal. While he would be unable to compete in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, Jordan began training for his next opportunity in the 2012 Olympics in London.
Yet despite his dedication and focus on his career, in early 2009, Jordan entered into a fiery relationship with Ria O'Conner, a 20 year old recruit to the national swimming team who was also from Kentucky. The both of them were, for the most part, madly in love with each other and shared a variety of common traits and interests that only bolstered this love between them even more. The two were near inseparable most of the time, with them often training together and egging each other on in light-hearted competitions. By the start of 2012, their relationship was burning as strong, if not stronger then when they had originally met. Jordan had felt that she was the one for him and his plan, following the end of the Olympic games that year, would be to propose and hopefully marry her.
However, despite qualifying without a problem for the Olympic games, Jordan's dreams were crushed just two weeks prior to the games when he was hit by a car who's driver was distracted on their phone. While surviving the impact itself and without any kind of head injury, the crash had broken his left leg in two places which would need corrective surgery and weeks if not months of healing before he would be able to partake in sports once again. He was forced to withdraw from the games and while he had been deeply upset with the entire ordeal and situation he was faced with, he continued to support his girlfriend unconditionally in her career and even refused her request to drop out of the games herself to help take care of him. By the time the games had ended, Ria managed to bring home a silver medal for her country in the 800m freestyle race, much to both her own and Jordan's pleasure.
As he had promised himself before the games and with the health condition improving significantly to the point where he could walk with only minor discomfort, in December of 2012 he proposed to Ria and while her initial reaction to the proposal had been shock she agreed with haste shortly after. However, their plans to get married around early Autumn of 2013 were cut short when the news of a global pandemic spreading everywhere was revealed in February. By the end of February, with things only getting worse every day, their plans for a wedding were deserted and their priorities changed quickly. As society collapsed further and further into complete anarchy with every passing day, both Jordan and Ria made desperate attempts to gather and acquire as much food, medicine and other items as quickly as possible just to survive. However, with the announcement of military controlled evacuations within Kentucky, both Ria and Jordan make their way in the hope of salvation and safety, despite the risk.
(Ria will likely have to be controlled as an 'NPC' at the start of the lore and depending on how it ends up going, she will either be separated or killed off near the start to reduce on the need to manage her.)
