Personality
Eugene at the moment is freaked out about many things, his children in California, and his students. He is most freaked out, however, about the shambling corpses walking down the street. At the moment, Eugene's goal is to not have to interact with them, and to remain as far away from them as possible.
Character Motivations
Eugene has to primary motivators, one being alcohol, and the other being the people he cares about. It seems the latter is in short supply at the moment, and his worry about them drives him towards the former, mainly, the bottle. At this point, his goal might be to try to get to California to find his children, but he doesn't know if he can get there... or if he is brave enough to do it.
Physical Appearance
Eugene is a stalky man of average height. His black hair is messy, as well as his facial hair. He wears a pair of black glasses, however, it fails to conceal the heavy bags around his green eyes that suggest that he hasn't been sleeping well long before the apocalypse started.

Biography
Eugene was born in White Plains, New York on April 3rd 1975. He is the only child of Lawrence Campbell and Miriam Saunders Campbell. Lawrence worked as a Police Officer in New York City, and Miriam worked as an elementary school teacher for the White Plains School District.
Lawrence was an alcoholic who came home drunk often. Lawrence and Miriam fought constantly, and Lawrence hit her on occasion. Eugene didn't like his father very much, and tended to just hide whenever he was home, especially when he was drunk.
Eugene mainly occupied those times with books, as a sort of escapism. He genuinely came to love them, and it was his passion.
However, in 1986, when Eugene was 11, his father was killed in the line of duty during a drug bust in the Bronx. The city paid out Lawrence's pension to Miriam, and they lived comfortably for the time being.
Due to his upbringing, a lot of his mother rubbed off on Eugene, who decided to go into teaching himself.
Eugene went to Penn State University in 1993, and graduated in 1997. After graduating and spending a year working a few odd jobs to make ends meet, Eugene received a job offer from West Point High School in Kentucky in 1998.
Eugene met his wife Jeanette Dorsey, a teller for Knox Bank in Valley Station, at a concert in Louisville in 1999. They eventually married in 2002. They had two children, James Campbell in 2003 and Adeline Campbell in 2004. For awhile, their marriage was a happy one and Eugene enjoyed both his job and life.
However, around 2008 the housing bubble burst and on came one of the worst recessions in modern history. This caused a lot of tension in their marriage. After Jeanette lost her job, and a huge fight about finances ensued, causing Eugene and Jeanette filed for divorce and she moved back to her parent's in California. Jeanette was awarded primary custody over James and Adeline, with Eugene getting summers. Eugene was devastated by this and turned to drinking.
That is where Eugene has been for the past 4 years. When his kids aren't around, and when school isn't in session, he usually can be seen at The Drake, getting hammered.
Eugene wasn't really following the news when he got the call that classes at the school were going to be suspended until further notice. All he thought is that he was going to get a little break to relax in his home. However, with the evacuation order sounded, Eugene did not think twice about leaving.

A bottle of scotch, a Bohag 244, a couple books (not skill books, just books). I'm not sure if we're still allowed to preclaim buildings, but if we are, the house at 11510x6807.
