Age

Blood Type

Personality
Church is a quiet individual, keeping his opinions to himself under most circumstances. He'll often elect to simply observe the happenings around him and if need be leave without a word spoken. He was never fond of leadership, usually content with being just another loyal cog in the machine, however, if the situation calls for it he'll stand up to the plate. Church isn't fond of murder by any means, but he understands the need for it in certain circumstances (drawing the line at children cause that's fucked). He tends to keep folks at arm's length, never really letting them get too close, aside from the occasional beer and chuckle.
Character Motivations
Survive. Plain and simple. He doesn't have much in the way of family nowadays, so survival is his main concern. Though if others did enter his life, he'd likely place their lives above his own.
Physical Appearance
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 160lbs
Church has a very relaxed and casual demeanour, never one to stick out unintentionally. His short dark beard smothers his neck and face, masking his sharp jawline while (despite being well kept) gives off a rustic vibe. Like his beard, Church keeps his dark brown hair cut short to minimize the effort he has to put into it in the morning. His neutral grey eyes often look tired with dark bags collecting just below them. With close inspection the tips of 3 of his teeth seem whiter than the rest, one can assume they’re false caps. Overall Church seems to live a fairly active lifestyle, with a lean muscular body and an extraordinary posture to boot.
Apparel:
Church is currently wearing a dark brown leather jacket overtop his red and white plaid button-up. His blue jeans and brown boots look well worn in seemingly comfortable. On his back is a (mostly) empty large rucksack with a survival axe strapped to its side.

Biography
Isaac Churchill was born in Muldraugh, Kentucky on January 20th, 1983 to Timothy and Anna Churchill. Timothy worked as a coal miner and was the sole income provider, meanwhile Anna maintained the house and cooked the meals. Sadly, just two years after the birth of Isaac, Timothy would end up dying in an accidental mineshaft collapse. Due to financial hardships, his mother remarried only a year after this out of desperation, settling down with an auto mechanic named Don Parker. Saying Don was cruel would be an understatement. A then four-year-old Isaac would be witness to the steady decline of his mother’s second marriage. His new stepfather would become increasingly abusive both physically and verbally, as well as developing an addiction to alcohol and other illegal substances.
His early childhood largely consisted of avoiding his stepfather’s wrath. Whenever Isaac At school Isaac was mostly introverted, electing to stay quiet in fear of annoying those around him. He spoke gently and looked meek despite his average size, leaving him to become a target for further bullying. However, his youth wasn’t always bleak. After school, Isaac and his two closest friends Richard and Alex would spend what was left of the daylight exploring the forests of Knox County. Climbing the trees, eating the wild blueberries and narrowly avoiding the patches of poison ivy and sumac. Richard and Alex were both sons of coal miners and throughout the years showed genuine sympathy towards Isaac and his mother. The two would even give Isaac the nickname ‘Church’ for him to use when he was outside the house and away from Don. Isaac appreciated it, he had started to detest the name Isaac whenever Don used it.
By the time high school arrived for Isaac, he had almost entirely come out of his antisocial shell. Although he still remained that ‘quiet kid’ he had learned to interact more with those around him, in fact, as the years went by he became bolder and bolder. Halfway through high school, he started stealing and selling his stepdad’s alcohol and other illicit drugs at parties. Giving him a reputation at his school and lifting him up into popularity despite his avoidance of being in the spotlight. However, this all came to a head when Don caught Isaac syphoning vodka from his liquor cabinet and beat him severely. His abdomen and face were littered with bruises and cuts the next day when he arrived at school. When inevitably pulled into the principles office he gave the weak excuse of falling down a hill while biking in the forest. He even had his bike to provide as evidence since Don had taken a sledgehammer to it months before in a fit of rage. As far as Isaac could see, getting rid of Don wasn’t an option for him and his mother. They’d be out on the streets without an income or a roof over their heads.
So Isaac lied to those around who sought to help him and managed to maintain his hellish life at home. But as time passed and he progressed through school frustration began to build up inside him, watching as Don abused his mom and sucked the joy out of her day in and day out. It compounded every time he heard Don’s careless voice calling for his mother or hand connect with her head. Till one day he had enough. He had just gotten back to school from his lunch break at home when a guy in his grade came up to him asking for some weed. Isaac blew him off at first, but when his peer continued to pressure him Isaac exploded. He turned and sent a right hook right across the guy’s face, watching him crumple to the floor. In a fit of rage, Isaac proceeded to jump on the kid, pounding away at the guy’s face with white bloodied knuckles until several people pulled him away. Luckily the sheriff at the time had been old friends of Isaac’s family and managed to calm the parents of the beaten kid. Narrowly avoiding charges he then had to avoid being killed by Don for bringing cops to his doorstep. Which he failed miserably at, at least he wouldn’t have to find an excuse for the bruises since he was suspended.
From then on he almost never came home when Don was there, instead choosing to sleepover at Richard’s, Alex’s, a girl’s house or even occasionally in his car. He knew if he hung around Don and longer he’d just end up murdering the bastard, so he stayed away. Around this time Richard started taking him and Alex hunting with his dad. Richard’s dad would help teach them the basics and even assist in getting them their first hunting licences and permits. Isaac fell in love with marksmanship and the hunt, borrowing Richard’s rifle frequently to go out on his own. By the end of their senior year, Richard gifted his rifle to Isaac, telling him it’d see more use that way. After high school Richard would move on to university, hoping to become a federal park ranger down the road. Alex was moving up north after learning of some high paying jobs in the Canadian tar sands. Isaac however, had zero plans.
After graduating in spring 2001, Isaac began working as a seasonal tour guide and hunting part-time in the summer while working several maintenance jobs for the county in the winter. Isaac enjoyed his guide work, finding himself not having to speak all that much while still being able to take pleasure in the outdoors. He worked for several years until finally saving enough for a mortgage downpayment. With a quaint house in West Point purchased, he then proceeded to convince his mom to leave Don for good. It was rough and took hours of pleading with her, but after it nearly a year of convincing she decided to at the very least move in and distance herself from Don. Finally, Isaac had managed to do something good for his mother. From there he gently pressured her to file for divorce, to his surprise it didn’t take nearly as much convincing as the move had. He was even able to get her a restraining order for Don after a small altercation.
With it now 2004 and his mother’s situation better than it had been for most of his life, Isaac decided to join Alex up in Canada. Alex had been trying to get him to move up there for years, telling him all about his work at Suncor Energy and the hospitality of the people. Isaac was intrigued, not just with the possibility of a fat paycheck, but also reuniting with a close friend. He spent the next 3 years in Fort McMurray, Alberta as a contract logger. His work consisted of clearcutting large swaths of forest for machinery to come in and extract oil from the Canadian oil sands. In his spare time, he’d go hunting with Alex and other friends they made along the way. It was on one of these hunts, from one of these friends that he learned of the bear guards in the northern territories. The northern territories of Canada were having increasing troubles with polar bears running into research missions. So in order to avoid the deaths of both polar bears and humans, bear guards were being contracted to deter the bears from interacting with people. Simple enough, but cold as hell.
Looking for some excitement, Isaac signed up. He made his way up to Iqaluit, Nunavut in 2007 to work as a polar bear guard. After some training in the small provincial capital, Isaac began supporting scientific research missions taking place in the arctic. For several years he’d be contracted out as a bear guard, spending his time patrolling camps and watching the backs of scientists as they worked. Although it wasn’t frequent, he did see numerous polar bears over the years. They were most often seen in the distance, however, the odd time they’d come too close for comfort. When this happened Isaac would simply scare them off with a flare gun, warning shot from his rifle or a rev from his snowmobile. By 2008 he had applied and received dual citizenship for the US and Canada. He was truly enjoying himself in the far north, despite the bitter cold and ridiculous cost of fresh food. Except all this would end with the death of his mother.
She had been battling breast cancer for some time now and had been receiving financial support from both Isaac and Don (as the divorce settlement). But as 2009 drew to a close and 2010 was on the horizon it was clear she likely wouldn’t make it much longer. Isaac decided to pack up and join his mother back in Kentucky for her final days. She passed away in February of 2010, leaving Isaac truly alone and without any family. But it didn’t last for long, he managed to reconnect with Richard who was working as a federal park ranger in Kentucky. After a bit of luck, a perfect interview and some a good word from Richard, Isaac managed to get a position as a park ranger, after the proper training courses of course. Later that year he sold his mother’s house and moved into a small apartment in Muldraugh and has been working as a federal park ranger since then.
