Biography
Dr. Linda Thurstan was born in Palo Alto California in 1972, to an upper middle class family. This resulted in her going to an excellent private school. However, Linda still did not fit in to much, mostly keeping to herself throughout elementary school and middle school. In High School however, Linda tried get out of her shell, but ended up humiliated by her date to senior prom after calling her a "fat cow" to his group of friends.
She eventually accepted into UC: Davis, where she did her undergraduate degree double majoring in Zoology/Biology. Linda spent most of her time in the library, not the most sociable person. She eventually began dating again, but that did not last longer than a few hookups. At that point, Linda gave up on relationships completely. She graduated with a 3.8 GPA.
Linda then completed her post grad studies at the University of Michigan in 1998, her thesis was on on migratory patterns on birds in the northern hemisphere and the effects on global warming.
Dr. Thurstan then accepted a tenured position at the Bellarmine University in 1999, where her research mostly focused on Global Warming and its affect on wildlife in various areas on the planet. Her classes had a reputation of being extremely difficult, especially toward people who are stereotypical frat dudebros, while many more academically inclined students praised Dr. Thurstan for being knowledgeable in many subjects. She has a very split rating on Rate My Professor, which causes many, many arguments and leads to her reputation being drastically different depending on who you ask.
Dr. Thurstan became the dean of the natural sciences department at Bellarmine in 2012, after the former dean retired. While she still finds time to teach classes, she is highly focused on her own research, which is regarding declining Emperor Penguin populations in Antarctica.
