Personality
Lynch is beyond jaded—not unlike a lot of survivors. She's moved from tragedy to tragedy over the last 12 years, losing somebody she loves every time she risks settling down. She's not much of a talker and she's tough to befriend. She would much rather abandon others before they can abandon her. That said, somebody persistent enough to get past her cold, callous facade would find a loyal, caring friend who's always willing to offer advice or lend a hand.
When working with others, Lynch pulls her own weight and contributes to the task at hand, but rarely socializes with her peers. She prefers to isolate with whatever hooch she can scrounge up when she's not working. When she needs to speak, though, she's articulate enough to prove her intelligence—even if she won't be finessing anybody with her words.
Character Motivations
Lynch isn't even sure what drives her, outside of a general Maslowian need to survive. She finds purpose in her work, which she sort of enjoys, but—having very few relationships to speak of—she doesn't see the future as a particularly hopeful thing. She's been putting one foot in front of the other for years now, thinking that something might dare to change one day. So far, things look bleak.
Physical Appearance
5'8" and ~160 pounds, Lynch is a lean, muscular woman. She isn't absolutely jacked, but she's been extremely physically active on a daily basis for over a decade, and it shows. Her hands and fingers are roughly calloused, and her pale skin is marred by splashes of freckles across her chest, shoulders and forearms. She has a very weary face, though she looks younger than she is, and she keeps her naturally red hair done up in a ponytail or bun more often than not. A handful of scars from physical altercations litter her body.

Biography
Julianne Green was born to two very normal parents in a very normal suburb of Washington, DC. She had a very normal childhood, very normal teenage years, and a very normal undergraduate experience. After receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, she went to work as an English teacher in the city. She met and fell in love with Kate, a substitute teacher, and they were married in their early 20s.
Kate and Julianne—Kitty and Jules, they called each other—were very happy together for nearly a decade. They had been considering adoption or IVF when, very suddenly, the whole world ended. Kitty suffered from more than one chronic health condition and, unfortunately, wasn't adept at avoiding the reanimated; she was bitten just two months into the apocalypse and begged Jules to put her out of her misery before she turned. Jules obliged, buried her in the tall grass beside a gas station just off the interstate and kept moving, leaving a significant portion of her soul behind.
She started going by Lynch, her married name, both as a way to remember her departed wife and as a means of distancing herself from strangers. She found it easier to cope when she wasn't quite as close to the people around her. Lynch bounced from group to group, sharpening her skills as a warrior and realizing that, curiously enough, she was a natural. She'd never even held a gun or hurt another person in anger before the apocalypse, but now killing was as easy as breathing—at least when it was the undead. The first time she was forced to kill another living, breathing human, she struggled with it for weeks; restless sleep, depression, guilt. But as she ran into shittier and shittier people and was forced time and again to kill in self-defense, she found it about as easy as putting down reanimated corpses.
After some time on the road, Lynch fell in with another group of survivors and found herself unwittingly growing closer to a man named Leclair. They bonded over loss and trauma, and soon enough Lynch had begrudgingly gained a new friend. They traded war stories—his more literal than hers—and Leclair shared some pointers on shooting and practical medical information he had acquired in his previous career as a pararescueman.
Lynch and her group found a mall full of survivors in rural Kentucky, and were invited to stay with them after a fashion. Against her better judgment and with some persuasive arguing from Leclair, Lynch decided to stay at the mall and put her skills as a fighter to use. She grew close to another survivor, Don, and what started as a means of venting sexual frustration eventually blossomed into a proper relationship. Lynch even came to feel a sort of motherly affection towards Don's painfully dramatic surrogate daughter.
After a few months, though, things took a turn for the worse. The mall started losing people to violence both external and internal. When the girl she'd come to view like a daughter was gunned down in cold blood at the whim of a psychotic murderer, Lynch realized that she simply couldn't stay put any longer. She left Don a very heartfelt note about how she was extremely sorry to be totally abandoning him, then tried to convince Leclair to leave with her. He felt an obligation to the community, though, as their primary caregiver, so Lynch informed him that she'd be heading towards the east coast if he wanted to join her.
Several weeks down the road, Leclair did in fact find Lynch. He imparted to her the unfortunate news that Don had died getting a large group of survivors to safety. She mourned the loss, not unlike how she had mourned the loss of her wife. By now, though, she was getting better at losing the people she loved. She kept putting one foot in front of the other alongside Leclair.
The duo bounced around the east coast together, settling here and there with different groups. Lynch was always careful not to let anybody in besides Leclair. Weeks became months and months became years, and before she knew it, Lynch had been without Kitty longer than she'd had her. The daily slog of zombie slaying, trying to build safe havens and occasionally killing living people became more real and normal to her than the strange blurry mundanity of being a teacher ever was.
While traveling through New York intent on reaching Canada, Leclair and Lynch were taken in by a rather large group calling themselves the CPF. They seemed to have big, ambitious dreams that sounded morally correct to Lynch—though she had long since stopped caring about such things. Leclair, however, was still a b it of an optimist; he wanted to work for the CPF, so Lynch agreed to stay.
Witnessing her superior combat prowess in action, the CPF quickly gave her a job as a "Ranger," one of their more elite scouts, as it were. While Leclair settled into a job as a doctor back in "New America"—one of the colloquial names for Pittsford/Fairpoint—Lynch ranged far from home, keeping an eye on the surrounding countryside and ensuring that no threats, living or otherwise, made it to the CPF's doorstep. When necessary, Lynch acted as a sort of old west-style marshal, apprehending fugitives and returning them to CPF for imprisonment or execution.
Lynch has been a Ranger for well over a year now. Sometimes she works with other Rangers, though more often than not she works alone. Regardless, she continues to keep herself walled off from anybody who threatens her bubble of apathy. She knows that people outside of the CPF are convinced of the organization's imminent downfall—and she herself is not blind to its shortcomings—but, frankly, as long as they continue to feed, clothe and house her, she doesn't particularly care.
