Character Name
Bonnie Mills
I Agree
Yes
Has this character appeared in a previous lore?
No
Age
26
Blood Type
O+
Personality
Bonnie is wry, witty, irreverent and more often than not downright rude. She has a mean streak, too, that's triggered easily enough by ignorant jackasses and people who waste her time. She's outspoken, unafraid and borderline manic sometimes. Beneath all of that noise and bluster, though, is somebody who cares very deeply for the truth and its proliferation.
Character Motivations
Bonnie's most sincere motivations, currently, are collecting and sharing stories through her work. In a perfect world, she'd love more "modern" pre-fall equipment to work with—hell, she'd take a fucking Gutenberg press—and a few extra hands to help her put the paper together, but... well, nothing is perfect.
Physical Appearance
5'6" and 140 pounds, Bonnie is slender but shapely. She has chest-length dark brown hair that she almost always keeps loosely braided, green eyes, and a surprisingly serious face for somebody who talks as much shit as she does. Her wrists and fingers are decked out with accouterments; bracelets and rings and such, as well as pendants and chokers around her neck. She has a handful of stick'n'poke tattoos on her arms, belly and legs, as well as a couple more professionally produced pieces from traveling artists with serious equipment.

Biography
Technically a Canadian—not that it really matters anymore—Bonnie was born and raised in the Golden Horseshoe, the countryside directly surrounding the western and northeastern shores of Lake Ontario. She grew up in the auspices of both her parents and later the ramshackle community assembled in Mississauga County after the fall.
Though her schooling was interrupted, Bonnie's father took education very seriously, and continued to teach her what he could after the public education system ceased to exist. It was from him that Bonnie fomented a sharp appreciation for the English language, the history of the world, and just generally knowing shit.
Bonnie lost her father two years after the fall in a lumber cutting accident. She and her mother soldiered on for a while, and Bonnie found herself working for a local print journalism outlet that soldiered on in spite of... y'know, the fucking apocalypse. She came to love the foundational concepts of journalism, despite not having much time for the news when she was young. From her mentors she learned how to quickly and accurately hand copy an obnoxious volume of writing with minimal margins for error, as well as how to smoke out a story through interviews and investigation.
When her mother passed of a fever that swept through Toronto in 2026, Bonnie decided it was time to get the fuck out of Dodge. She'd spent her whole life in the same thirty-mile radius, and she wanted to see other settlements, figure out how they ticked, and possibly start her own local publication outlet.
And she did just that! Traveling across the border into the United States, Bonnie spent a little time in CPF territory before deciding they weren't quite her style, then moved on to the Barrens, where she'd heard rumors of a budding settlement that was just a few months old. Upon arriving in Monroe, she set herself up doing odd jobs for tradesfolk around town, until she had assembled enough goodwill and capital to get an office space and start reporting.
Bonnie has lived in Monroe for nearly a year and a half now, and has been producing The Monroe Post for about as long, biweekly.
