Personality
Aaron of the present is a thoughtful, easy-going, and overall generally optimistic and comforting character. He is kind to those around him, and is not one to hold a grudge. He was not always like this however, for when he first arrived in Monroe he was an attacker, not a visitor. Having been saved from the very people he and his group sought to raid and pillage, Aaron has changed much as a man, turning away from his bitter, spiteful self and toward a look that focuses on the good in the world, and not the bad.
Character Motivations
To say that Aaron is a man without ambition would be an understatement. This goes even before his arrival in Monroe, though in a different manner. Following the death of his sister in a war between factions in Seattle, Aaron drifted through life rather aimlessly, filled with an anger that ultimately saw its release targeted toward the world around him. However, after being taken in by Monroe, Aaron gradually warmed up to life, eventually becoming the man that he is. The current Aaron is one who is perfectly content with a simple life among friends and nature. He still regrets not being able to save his sister however, and this alongside all his other actions thereafter sends him into a life of wanting to do some kind of penance for his perceived failure as a big brother, in addition to all the rest. Taking comfort in the small things in life, Aaron tries to aid others, such as simply trying to help someone through the day.
Physical Appearance
A man standing at roughly 5’10, he is of a fairly average build, probably weighing in somewhere around the 170s. Unless it is some formal occasion, of which is likely seldom, he typically has rather unkempt light brown hair, and sports a thin beard to match. Underneath his shirt however there is a sizable scar on his right side where he was shot four years prior during his group’s raid on Monroe. In addition is a linear scar across his chest from an old knife wound, one near his chest due to a gunshot wound, a scar from a stab wound that’s on his upper left hand side, and lastly a smaller one on his left shoulder after having been hit by an arrow.

Biography
Aaron was born on May 10, 1997, in the suburbs of Seattle, Washington. Growing up Aaron had an affinity for the mountains and woods of his home state, and grew to take great pleasure when he and his family would make their usual camping trips to wildernesses near and far. Having quite the imaginative mind, the young Aaron could sit for hours with little more than the sound of a rushing river to keep him company, while he engendered fantastical stories in his mind. When Aaron was six his little sister, Leah, was born— his first and only sibling. Unlike some sibling rivalries that might crop up in both reality and fiction, Aaron and his sister were quick to become great friends.
School was a success for Aaron, and he grew to be friends with most of the people he met throughout his educational career. His academic talents lay within the realm of writing and English, and after graduating with high honors he was accepted into the University of Washington. Much seemed to be looking up in Aaron’s life, he was entering his junior year, he knew that he wanted to be a teacher for his choice of vocation of life, and he had friends and family all alongside him. As such, he was happy to know that he and his sister were to go visit some relatives who lived in upstate New York.
This happiness soon faded however, as this trip just so happened to correspond with the outbreak. He and his sister were stranded in Syracuse with their cousins and uncle while the world fell apart around them, and they were unable to get a flight back to Seattle. Of course, the situation did not improve, and as opposed to finding refuge in one of the crowded refugee camps being erected by the government, Aaron and his relatives decided to flee undetected to their vacation cabin further upstate. They stayed there for a few weeks, hoping that the situation would blow over, yet as their stay lengthened it soon became apparent that this was a crisis beyond reckoning. Their uncle and two cousins decided to head out into town to see if they could acquire any information. They did not come back. Following his uncle’s wishes, the two of them now stayed in the cabin alone, as their relatives were presumed dead.
Together the siblings wintered it out at the cabin, hunting and fishing throughout to supplement whatever meager stockings were there to begin with. As spring came around they made the decision that they could not stay here all their lives, and decided to try and make it home. The nearby town was deserted, and thus began their three year long odyssey of traveling across America. They eventually arrived in Seattle after much toil and hardship, but found their home abandoned and partly flooded. The city was not unoccupied however, and the siblings came to ingratiate themselves with a fledgling group that seeking to reclaim the city. They were only allowed in due to the fact that for one of the members used to go to school with the duo and knew them, and thus they were permitted to join. The suspicion came from the fact that Seattle was split between various rival factions, all vying for what remained of the resources and livable area within the city.
They stayed there for two years, participating in skirmishes and fights as they went along. However, a time came when their group was poised to attack a heavily fortified base of another, an attack which cost the life of Aaron’s sister, Leah. The attack was ultimately a success, but Aaron did not care. He was now alone in the world, and with nearly all connections to his past life gone, Aaron deserted the group alongside a few other dissenters. The group turned to banditry to survive, with Aaron having lost both his faith, and hope in the world. For the next three years the group traveled across America, gaining and losing members, and by the time they arrived back to upstate New York, not a single member of the original group that left Seattle was still alive.
The group met their end however when they plotted to raid the town of Monroe. Most members of the group were killed, while the others who fled continued to harry the area for a time before finally being driven out for good. Aaron on the other hand was gravely wounded in the assault, having been shot in his side. The leader of the town decided to take pity on the young man and chose not to execute the bandit. He was brought in and treated, and was told that in restitution for his crimes he was serve the town in a form of indentured servitude for three years. For the first year Aaron worked the farms of Monroe, and when it became apparent that he wasn’t going to run off or cause violence, he went out on rangings, alongside hunting and fishing for the town.
Three years at Monroe changed Aaron, where he became a more optimistic, and hopeful person. He realized that there was good in the world, and he found faith as well. For long term residents of Monroe, the sulky, ill-tempered Aaron who arrived four years prior would be a completely different person to the good-natured, thoughtful, and easy-going man that he is now. Following his three years of servitude Aaron was offered a place in Monroe, and he found himself owning a small plot of land big enough to farm. In addition, he sometimes hunts when required, and goes out on rangings when the need arises. Aaron has been living free in Monroe for the past year now, and is widely considered a welcome member of the community.
