Personality
Aaron is loud and hyperactive. Without activity, he finds his mental health quickly deteriorating and he consequently creates conflict at great personal risk to keep himself amused. He seems to have little respect for his own mortality or the mortality of others. A seemingly selfish person, Aaron appears to have devoted his life to his own entertainment and comforts, stirring trouble along the way. He seems to be unethical, willing to do morally repugnant tasks for money. However, he can be very charming when he wants to be. Additionally, it might be noticed by some that Aaron seems to have an affinity for protecting people he deems as weak, whether it be children, the disabled, or people who simply have an innocent demeanor.
Character Motivations
Aaron hates quiet. His mind spins in stillness and he becomes overwhelmed by guilt and grief. His solution to this is to never keep moving, and he fills his life with exciting and morally questionable tasks to ensure he never has too much time to think. While he does have a soft spot for some people, his sole motivations seem to be selfishness and greed, and he is motivated by entertainment and money.
Physical Appearance
Aaron is a handsome, strong man. Standing at 6'1" and weighing 180 lbs, he is very muscular. He has thick stubble over his jaw and thick hair. He seems a formidable foe and is never separated from his reliable crossbow which he uses with stunning accuracy. He has a tattoo of an Arctic Wolf on his left deltoid, a tattoo of a black hawk on his right thigh, and the name Jenny tattooed directly over his heart.

Biography
Aaron Laxton was born August 7th, 1988 in a small, Eastern Kentucky hamlet. His father was a mean and abusive drunk and Aaron found himself taking the brunt of his rage. He became deeply attached to his younger brother, Charlie, and took it upon himself to protect Charlie from their father, taking constant beatings for his brother. Growing up in Eastern Kentucky, he acquired skills in hunting, shooting, and camping. Aaron joined a gang at a young age and at 17, he found his brother shot dead in a gang shooting perpetrated by the very gang Aaron was with. Devastated and filled with rage, Aaron waited one week until his 18th birthday and immediately enlisted in the Army in an effort to run away from his grief and guilt. He’s never stopped running since.
Aaron poured out all his rage into his training and found himself to be quite successful as the physical components of Army life. He struggled with discipline, getting into spiffs with fellow cadets and drill sergeants alike, but he eventually managed to keep his mouth shut long enough to satisfy higher ups. Showing himself to be audacious, brave, and tactically proficient Aaron was stationed at Fort Wainwright, Alaska in the 25th Infantry Division. He was on the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, assigned to work Reconnaissance Surveillance and Target Acquisition. In 2008, he was deployed East of Baghdad. He saw lots of combat during this tour and proved himself a talented soldier. Furthermore, Aaron developed a feeling of genuine kinship with his fellow soldiers and felt supported by them, something he had lacked in his life up to that point. He was deployed to Iraq again for a second tour of duty in late 2009 where he got shot in the butt. This injury proved to be brutal to recover from and he was sent back to the states. After a long, arduous recovery Aaron was ultimately cleared to return to duty but never got deployed overseas again. Horribly bored by the mundane nature of life on base in Alaska, he did not reenlist once his contract ended.
Aaron moved to Los Vegas along with a group of his war buddies where they all got a house and lived together as roommates. They worked odd jobs, with Aaron finding himself working as a bouncer at various strip clubs throughout the city. In times of quiet, Aaron found his mind taking him to places he didn’t want to go and he quickly created trouble for himself in order to silence his thoughts. Aaron and his war buddies got involved in gang life and Aaron served a six month stint in jail for assault. After getting out, he started a relationship with a stripper named Jane at one of the strip clubs he worked at. Four months into their relationship Aaron got arrested for dealing methamphetamines days before Jane found out she was pregnant. After serving 18 months, Aaron was released from prison and immediately tried to get Jane and his daughter Jenny to be a part of his life. Jane was strongly opposed to this. Foolishly, Aaron sought custody in a legal battle but given his criminal record, nothing came of this effort. Finally, Jane agreed to let Aaron have a role in Jenny’s life and Aaron lived for his visits with his daughter. He loved her deeply, and was committed to being a father to her.
When the apocalypse occurred, Aaron had a choice to make. He could stay together with his war buddies, or he could seek out his daughter. Aaron chose his kid and went to go find her. Unfortunately, she and her mother had already turned. Distraught, Aaron put them down before turning his gun on himself. In a truly remarkable coincidence bordering on fate, two friends he served with in Iraq happened across him right at that moment. Dan, who had his legs blown off by IEDs and was confined to a wheelchair, was being pushed by Mark as they ran from a group of zombies. Aaron saw them and used the bullet he intended for himself to eliminate the threat. Afterwards, he decided to stay with them, determined to help keep Dan safe.
For years the three roamed the shell of America. They became part of various groups along the way, but everybody always ended up dying or leaving eventually. They engaged in lots of morally repugnant behavior, feeling no qualms about killing or thieving their way through the world. Dan, however, was the moral compass of the group and tried to steer his two friends on the right path. Four years into the apocalypse, Mark ended up dying in a gunfight against another group. Months later, Aaron and Dan happened across the Coalition. It appeared to be a place where Dan could finally be safe in his disabled condition. The two settled in there, with Aaron offering his tactical expertise to their peacekeeping force. However, Aaron quickly became bored with their lawful ways. He made the decision to leave his last friend, telling Dan he couldn’t take the quiet of life within the walls.
Leaving his only surviving friend in the relative safety of the Coalition walls, Aaron quickly devolved into more morally repugnant behavior without Dan to hold him accountable. Eventually, he began advertising his services as a mercenary, gaining some acclaim across the land for his skill. He now travels across the Eastern United States as a gun for hire, willing to do just about anything people pay him for, ethical or otherwise. His only notable exception is his refusal to hurt children.
Would you like your character to start with any items?
A crossbow w/ bolts
A .45 semi-automatic pistol with ammunition
I'd also be deeply appreciate if you guys could give me aim / reload xp so I can actually use the crossbow in combat against zombies instead of just firing all my bolts into the void of nothingness and having to use my axe mechanically keeping the bow as a prop. I'd really like to be able to mechanically match his RP skills with the weapon. Also, the desensitized trait would be helpful in ensuring I can actually take on the zombies (FUCK PZ AIM MECHANICS!) I feel like enough about me is known by this point that you guys know that even if my character is an unethical mercenary with no qualms on killing, I wouldn't just go around mech shooting players without giving them opportunity to roleplay their way out of it and would primarily use this privilege to combat zombies.
