No
Age

Blood Type
B Positive
Personality
- Mostly soft-spoken, with a lot of uncertainty about herself and her own abilities in general. Prefers to take orders rather than lead.
- That being said, can be surprisingly confident when she is in her zone – usually when helping someone or performing her duties as a runner, the job she was born to do.
- A nurturing personality. She doesn’t like seeing anything or anyone in pain. Even zombies has part of her sympathy, seeing them akin to dumb animals who have no clue of the hurt they’re causing.
- Likes to read, and is rather introverted if allowed, though she does come out of her shell when with people she knows and trusts. A favorite pass-time of hers is playing games with a small group of friends.
- Loves running, as it gives her a great sense of freedom and agency. Plus, it’s something you can always do, even during the apocalypse – what’s not to like?
- Can get surprisingly argumentative if something goes against her deepest morals and principles. Usually when someone is causing others pain for no – or self-serving – reasons.
Character Motivations
- To find her place in the world and put her skills to use. She strives to feel useful and needed.
- To find lasting safety.
- To redeem herself from her time being a bandit.
Physical Appearance
- Lithe for her age, unassuming and easy to overlook. She tends to wear casual clothes that are slightly baggy, making her look smaller than she is. Her clothes tend to be more practical than stylish, and always seem kind of thrown together.
- Dark red hair and dark brown eyes.
- Rarely goes anywhere without her blue duffel bag of necessities.
- 160 cm tall

Biography
Before the outbreak:
- Theresa "Terry" Winters grew up in a typical middle-class household. Her family consisted of an estranged father, an overbearing mother who always seemed to want her to be different than she was, and her mother’s boyfriend who just seemed to look right through her. At home, Terry preferred the role of a ghost and spent much of her time in her own room, reading books and drawing. Most of the time it was easy to do, as her mother and the boyfriend were usually fully occupied with their loud arguments.
- Terry had a few good friends who helped inspire confidence in her. They’d all meet after school and go exploring in the nearby woods.
After the outbreak:
- The outbreak happened 2 months after Terry’s 12th birthday.
- Terry’s mother and boyfriend died in the first couple of weeks while they were fleeing to her aunts farmhouse. Terry survived and brought the bad news to the aunt.
- The aunt and Terry got along very well, despite everything. The two had very different personalities, with the aunt being very matter-of-fact and blunt, but Terry liked that about her. A condition of the aunt’s lungs meant that Terry and a few friends of her aunts were left to do most of the chores, but she didn’t mind - her aunt helped as much as she could with advice and planning, and though she was tired and overworked, Terry enjoyed feeling useful. They lived off supplies that they grew and shared with the neighbors. Together they learned how to defend against zombies and keeping their grounds safe.
- But the zombies became more numerous and encroached them more tightly each day. Four years into the outbreak, having lost several of their friends and neighbors, the aunt began to succumb to her disease, as it was mostly left untreated. Terry and her aunt finally said their goodbyes, and Terry was once again left alone.
- For the next two years, Terry became a drifter. It was a miserable existence, going from place to place, picking out trash for food and huddling in abandoned buildings. Terry doesn’t like to remember this part of her life. She met very few trustworthy people and soon learned to dodge those that were likely to harm her.
- One day, down on her luck, she was fortunate enough to meet Chuck. Chuck belonged to a new settlement currently looking for survivors. Chuck convinced Terry to join them, and upon her arrival, she learned that he was the de facto leader of the place. They set her up with a place to stay and taught her a new skill – becoming a runner.
- Supply-runners were in high demand in the settlement. Harder to spot than cars and not nearly as noisy, runners were sent out to gather special supplies. The role suited Terry extremely well. Once her cardio training brought her up to speed, she had a talent for running long distances, and this, couples with her inconspicuous nature, made her the born runner.
- After 4 years, the settlement fell on hard times. Chuck died to bandit raiders, and the leadership role changed hands several times, causing internal confusion and disarray. Finally, the leadership role passed to Joel, who seemed to want to return the settlement to the way it had been when Chuck was in charge. But only a few months in, Terry noticed several changes. Supplies were coming in steadily now, but from strange sources, and every time the regular supply runs were unsuccessful, a posse would go out and somehow come back with enough supplies to meet demands. Terry found out much too late what was going on – the posse were going on bandit raids. The settlement was turning into a bandit camp.
- A few of the inhabitants left – or were forced to ‘retire’ the settlement – as more people found out about the raids. Yet many people still stayed and even applauded the change in direction for the place. Terry’s biggest shame was not leaving as soon as she learned about the raids, but her memory of her days as a drifter kept her too scared and petrified to leave.
- Her decision to stay marked her as one of the ‘trustworthy folk’ of the settlement and, less than willing, she was sent out on increasingly high-risk high-reward runs. She tried to ignore the increasing danger and turned a blind eye to the atrocities the inner circle of the settlement was committing. Until one day when she was asked (rather, commanded) to participate in one of the raids.
- They needed a runner to unlock a backdoor for a sneak attack on another camp. Terry did as she was told and witnessed first-hand what it meant to be part of a bandit group.
- Upon her return home, she immediately packed her bags and left for good. She had been at the settlement for 5 years.
- She spent the next many weeks keeping clear of pursuers. She didn’t know if they wanted to kill her or drag her back to the settlement, and she didn’t want to find out. She was back to the life she dreaded, the life of a drifter. But to her surprise, she found herself doing better than before, with her experience as a runner counting greatly in her favor. But she’s not aiming to stay a drifter forever, looking for that new – and hopefully lasting – place to call her home.
