Nellie is patient, meticulous, and punctual. She would rather have a game plan than make rash decisions. Over a decade’s worth of the apocalypse has made her more reserved and calculated despite her warm disposition. She can sometimes come off as cold or guarded to those that don’t know her.
Character Motivations
Nellie’s biggest dream will always be to find and reunite with her parents. Realistically, she knows the chances are slim and so she lives her life day-to-day. Her biggest motivator is to keep those close to her safe.
Physical Appearance
Nellie is the definition of plain Jane. There is nothing particularly special about her. She has fine chocolate-colored hair and dark hazel eyes. She has a round-tipped nose and moderately filled out lips.

Biography
Born and raised in the scenic town of Bar Harbor, Maine, Nellie spent most of her days hanging with friends along the coastline and eating fresh seafood. Her parents, Len Holland and Audie Bishop, were strict but supportive throughout her childhood. Her father worked on a fishing boat while her mother was a hostess at a popular tourist restaurant. They were never well off, but because they were frugal, they were able to live without worries.
Nellie was able to graduate high school in the middle of the pack and secure a spot at a small college in southern New Hampshire. She was just finishing up the second semester of freshman year when the apocalypse started. She spent the initial few years with those living in her dorm, scavenging and defending their building. Being so young and lacking survival experience, she knew that she had to stay in a pack to survive. Her main dream is to reunite with her parents but that possibility began to fade away as the years wore on; however, she still hopes that it’ll happen.
In the next few years, Nellie would find herself situated in a new group in Massachusetts after her dorm was overrun. That is where she met and befriended Crispin Barnes. Shortly after, their group splintered due to a leadership dispute and the two found themselves struggling to survive alone. To no one’s surprise, the new groups refused to trade and interact directly and that’s where Nellie and Crispin found their calling. They quickly fell into the roles of finding and smuggling goods and earned their food this way.
Recently, the groups in Massachusetts began a turf war and the two decided to escape the heat and head towards New York for new opportunities.
