Personality
What makes someone insane? The ability to adapt to stoicism and pessimism or the ability to keep yourself as someone who you want to be in the face of tremendous loss - Rachel Bevis has long settled on the latter being the mistake most people make. She is an outwardly optimistic young woman with a bubbly disposition who is often underestimated and mistaken as being ditzy by most. Rachel is an intelligent young woman who has been conditioned with the ability to flip a switch in the heat of the moment to someone willing to do what it takes to protect the people she cares most for.
She has been instilled with a strong sense of morals by her father, a Ranger within The Coalition of Pitsford and Fairpoint. Often, Rachel will go out of her way to keep others safe and has no issues with offering a helping hand to anyone. Naively, she often leans on the border of granting nearly anyone a second chance, a severe character flaw, and byproduct of living behind the safety of walls that often puts her in bad positions within communities and with others.
She is always looking to prove herself, too, having been barred on several different occasions by her father who has utilized his position of power within the Rangers to keep her from serving in any form of combat role due to his personal belief of her being incapable of serving in it. This has embroiled her with a deep-seated desire to prove him wrong at any cost by matching his ability to do combat, deliver justice, and handle other high-endurance exercises. This will often put her in positions where she may be in over her head, but she will see whatever it may be through to the end. No matter what.
Currently, Rachel is looking to acquire as much money as possible so that she can return to the capital cities to repay an owed debt that has left her family in an increasingly precarious situation with a trade group known as the Kali Trading Emporium - a heavy-handed supplier to the Rangers, and the community as a whole.
Character Motivations
As an idealistic woman who believes that The Coalition of Pitsford and Fairpoint could do more for The Barrens and the world as a whole, Rachel wants to pay off her debt to the Kali Trading Emporium and return home to pursue her dream of following in her father's footsteps and becoming a ranger. This is her ultimate drive - to see the world enter a better place where people don't have to rely on murder and death as a method of survival, where prisoners and everyone can be treated fairly, where communities don't resort to savagery as a form of punishment for people who may not have had any other choice to do what they did.
People are everything to Rachel, and she is willing to go the extra mile to protect them.
Physical Appearance
She is an approachable fresh-faced young woman who stands in at five-foot-six inches and weighs in at one-hundred and forty-three pounds. She is an extremely fit woman who often deceives with her initial appearance matched with her personality. Rachel has long blonde hair which she often wears done-up into a messy bun or ponytail, her face shows no signs of wear-and-tear or scarring, a sign of her greenness to the environment.
Rachel Bevis can often be found wearing an array of different clothing ranging from practical to the impractical; she still appreciates fashion, even in the current climate, and will sometimes dress herself up and even wear makeup, though it is rare. One constant is her handmade necklace, which seems to hold some sentimentality to her.

Biography
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 10th of 2005, Rachel Jeanne Bevis grew up in a well-off neighborhood with her parents and one other older sister. She had an average childhood and received nothing but good grades, but would never go on to see middle-school or high-school. At the young age of nine-years-old, she was thrust into the chaos of the initial alongside her family who managed to survive by falling in with the United States Military early on. They spent the first few months being moved from quarantine zone to quarantine zone and even spent a year on an aircraft carrier.
Most of her memories of this time have long-faded due to the woes of time, but she can remember some of it and how they ended back on the mainland. An outbreak on the carrier that led to most of the personnel abandoning ship in the dead of night during a storm and retreating back to the coast. Her family fell in with the few who managed to reach the coastline. She remembers a lot of wandering from place-to-place and a lot of familiar faces either suffering gruesome ends or vanishing in the dead of night with nobody ever telling her what happened to them. This time on the road inevitably led them to Pittsford, a burgeoning community thriving on trade and economy in upstate New York. With some vetting, each member of the group was accepted behind the walls under the condition that they worked.
This gave her an opportunity that not many people had, a chance at some normalcy to the rest of her childhood. Rachel and her sister never were really introduced to the violence of the world in their time on the outside. Her mother and father both sought to protect their innocence with the hopes of a new civilization forming to give them the lives that they both wanted for them. She went to one of the makeshift "high-schools" behind the walls and received further education while war loomed in the background with a community known as Fairpoint, a war which would lead to the formation of an elite combat unit known as the Rangers, a unit that her father would end up enlisting and serving valiantly in during the battles to come. It was the stories of heroism of him that led to her interest in uprooting her normal life - unlike her older sister - and embracing the current state of the world with her idealism.
After a year of nothing but loss for both communities, Pittsford won the war but spared Fairpoint and instead embraced it leading to the formation of The Coalition and restoration efforts between both parties. Rachel convinced her father to allow her to help with this leading to a few months spent on construction and humanitarian crews helping small collections of people on the outskirts of both communities to rebuild. She managed to get her first taste of combat in some of them, too, having to dispatch of her first couple of Red Eyes. It might have been her realization that she enjoyed what she was doing - or the feeling of doing good in a world that more often than not settled on doing bad - that made her go to her father at the age of eighteen and insist on following in his footsteps and becoming a Ranger herself. While she loved and respected her father, the relationship would grow strainful and sour after he rejected her and promised to never allow her to serve in such a role out of paternal love, though in her eyes it was the belief that he didn't believe in her.
For the next couple of years, Rachel put her frustration into defying her father in secret. She snuck out of the walls with a few men and women she had come to call her friends and practiced her ability to shoot, she made every effort to familiarize herself with the horrors of the outside world. It was harsh on her initially, but she managed to steel herself and cope. She got to be good with fighting, both with firearms and close-quarters with the Red Eyes, and became confident in herself - far too confident. On the verge of her twenty-first birthday, she was invited by one of these friends to an underground tournament hosted by one of the Ranger Quartermasters - Dwight Kilean - a fight-club kept under the nose of the council with a large grand prize of 20,000c. Rachel eagerly threw all of her savings into entering the competition and fought two other individuals - a man, and a woman. She managed to win her first bout but was knocked out in the second round and had her nose broken. She woke up in the hospital with her father - who expressed nothing but disappointment in her for making such a reckless decision. It led to more bad blood between the two, with her being labeled as irresponsible.
At the age of twenty-one, she started to deal with the Kali Trade Emporium - a group created by Ms. Thersea Kali, a relentless businesswoman with an outrageous amount of power who supplied most of the major branches within the group who was hellbent on bringing her business to the limelight - after an incident wherein her older sister became indebted to them after losing a large majority of her stock as a trader. Rachel, fearing for her both her sister and families life and well-being within the walls of Pittsford assumed responsibility for the incident to protect her sister and ended up working alongside them to work it off. Truth is, she knew that all of this would fall back onto both her mother and father, and she had seen what happens to thieves and other criminals in the custody of the C-P-F, a practice that disgusted her. She didn't want that for her sister, or anyone in her family.
She was assigned to a small greenhorn unit led by a veteran security officer and a former stuntman named Brock. Within her first week of training, her group received its first assignment - a normal guard detail for one of the representatives who had intentions of exploring and purchasing a mine that supposedly had ''mythical'' creatures in it. Rachel had no reason to believe the threat, nor did any other member of her team. It led them to The Barrens ... It seemed like nothing but your standard gig, but the moment they descended into the caverns, everything went to hell. Moment by moment, each and every one of her friends was torn down by monsters she had never seen before in all of her life. She claimed her first human life on that day too - Dick, another member of her squad. Rachel ended up being the sole survivor of the unit and escaped alongside Darner. Unfortunately for her, her handler and representative cut her loose due to the look the outstanding losses brought on the Kali Trading Emporium - she was used as a scapegoat, again and now had to find another way to pay her outstanding debt to the group before the worst happened.
