≫ WHAT'S UP WITH GATEWAY ROLEPLAY? ≪

  • We've been radio silent for a long time now. We posted an announcement in our Discord server back in April of 2025, but never updated the forums. So what's up with Gateway Roleplay?

    After 5 long years, we've decided to place the development of Ties That Bind on an indefinite hold.

    This doesn't mean it's cancelled. We fully intend to run Ties That Bind: What Lies Beneath and Ties That Bind: City of Angels eventually. But to do so, we need to take a step back. In the meantime, we'll be working on smaller, invite-only projects.

    Thank you to everyone who has stuck with us this long! MindGate and I (Pika) have been working on this server for over a decade now. It truly is a passion project for us.

Biography
Before the Red Eye and even before the outbreak Shatsu worked hard at going door to door selling clothing that him and his wife would make. But not long after the business finally taking off Shatsu and his wife got hit hard with their daughter falling ill. After losing his early wife he and his daughter left the city and headed for the rural area of Monroe County.

Becoming a part of Monroe came natural to Shatsu and his daughter, with it being walled off and the potential of a baby-sitter being there was a huge plus to Shatsu.

Hi, BuyMyShirts! After reviewing your application, I've decided to deny it.

We require that all characters have a real first and last name. Shatsu Urite is not a real name. It is literally "Sell Shirts" in Japanese. His backstory states that he was a shirt salesman. From that alone, it's clear that this is a joke character. Characters that are not serious or are meant to be a joke are not allowed on the server.

Additionally, you have not fully read the lore. You've read enough to know the name of the virus and the basics of each faction, but one major element is missing from your application: we're 14 years into the apocalypse. You must have fully read the lore in order to play on the server.
