≫ WHAT'S UP WITH GATEWAY ROLEPLAY? ≪

  • We've been radio silent for a long time now. We posted an announcement in our Discord server back in April of 2025, but never updated the forums. So what's up with Gateway Roleplay?

    After 5 long years, we've decided to place the development of Ties That Bind on an indefinite hold.

    This doesn't mean it's cancelled. We fully intend to run Ties That Bind: What Lies Beneath and Ties That Bind: City of Angels eventually. But to do so, we need to take a step back. In the meantime, we'll be working on smaller, invite-only projects.

    Thank you to everyone who has stuck with us this long! MindGate and I (Pika) have been working on this server for over a decade now. It truly is a passion project for us.

I'm assuming that since there is apparently a second spy of the Millers and judging from what we know ICly and OOCly it has come to my attention that it is most likely to be Eli Hunt. If this is the case, then the sudden murder of Emma Reid is a case of story-crossing and also potentially OOCly motivated towards another player after the metagaming ticket towards Zed was shut down. If my assumption is wrong and it is not Eli Hunt then ignore this ticket.

This is being posted here for reference material for other admins.
Before I make any sort of official response - as I and one of the owners have worked out a proper response - I want to ask for further information. When Piggs mentions Zed's death, is this in regards to his retirement? If so, yes. Piggs is able to void this, but I do ask him to come up with another reason in regards to Zed's temporary disappearance. If it is in regards to something else, I'd like to ask for additional information on the scene in general.

Past that - I will be working to come up with an IG resolution in regard to Zed's blame as several players have run with the information for the past week. This will not be long and should come up as soon as tomorrow or at the latest, Wednesday. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience brought onto either of you from the nature of this event and hope to see you back online soon. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

No, I don't believe Piggs intended for Zed to be dead. Last I heard, he retired Zed by being held captive by off-map bandits unrelated to the Millers or something during a scouting mission. I think he was going for the angle that his group, the Croners, were the ones who he encountered and he just decided to go back to his old ways. However, the ticket here was referring to the death of Emma Reid and how the player used her two characters to story-cross and then frame Piggs after a failed metagaming support ticket which raised some concerns.

Thanks for responding to this ticket, I hope things work out for the resolution. I don't think it's anything that Piggs wants to void or anything though. He just wanted the incident to be investigated.

Zed has been cleared of suspicion. Monroe knows Eli was the killer now.
