≫ WHAT'S UP WITH GATEWAY ROLEPLAY? ≪

  • We've been radio silent for a long time now. We posted an announcement in our Discord server back in April of 2025, but never updated the forums. So what's up with Gateway Roleplay?

After 5 long years, we've decided to place the development of Ties That Bind on an indefinite hold.

This doesn't mean it's cancelled. We fully intend to run Ties That Bind: What Lies Beneath and Ties That Bind: City of Angels eventually. But to do so, we need to take a step back. In the meantime, we'll be working on smaller, invite-only projects.

Thank you to everyone who has stuck with us this long! MindGate and I (Pika) have been working on this server for over a decade now. It truly is a passion project for us.

This letter is delivered to all resident houses in Monroe. Copies are also available at the inn.

Dear resident,

I am delighted to be able to inform you that, after meeting with Carl Miller myself, Monroe is no longer at war with the community known as the Millers. I understand that this will come as a surprise to you, given the tremendous amounts of sacrifices you have made in order to protect Monroe from what we recognised to be a hostile community.

Both here in Monroe and in the Miller community, we have a lot to gain from a cooperative relationship with each other. The Millers have a wealth of knowledge and resources that they are willing to share with us thanks to this new relationship. We now have the opportunity to answer many of the questions we have been asking about the world as of recent, having access to their catalogues of information regarding the so-called ‘mutants’ that many of us have witnessed around The Barrens. It is crucial that we all move forward and work on building a new, kinder and more prosperous relationship between our peoples. It benefits us all to work together against our common enemies.

Furthermore, we will be expanding Monroe’s scientific capabilities by constructing a new laboratory, which will serve as a beacon of research for the entirety of The Barrens. We will have the ability to research these ‘mutant’ creatures by our own accord and develop our own medicines, etcetera.

Additionally, Monroe will be training a new round of fresh police recruits. Head of Security Max Stone's contact Preston Hand will be in charge of training our new men, so good luck to them.

I should also take this time to make it clear that Liliana Marat is no longer a member of our community. Having stolen a sizeable amount of official town documents, Liliana is a fugitive on the run and Monroe has issued a warrant for her arrest. A private citizen elsewhere has already placed a bounty on her head. It is unsurprising that she is unpopular elsewhere.

Please visit resident services if you have any other queries.

Kind regards,

Crystal Chen
Minister of Monroe
