≫ WHAT'S UP WITH GATEWAY ROLEPLAY? ≪

  • We've been radio silent for a long time now. We posted an announcement in our Discord server back in April of 2025, but never updated the forums. So what's up with Gateway Roleplay?

    After 5 long years, we've decided to place the development of Ties That Bind on an indefinite hold.

    This doesn't mean it's cancelled. We fully intend to run Ties That Bind: What Lies Beneath and Ties That Bind: City of Angels eventually. But to do so, we need to take a step back. In the meantime, we'll be working on smaller, invite-only projects.

    Thank you to everyone who has stuck with us this long! MindGate and I (Pika) have been working on this server for over a decade now. It truly is a passion project for us.

Hello! Just a quick question: Since Holt left the server - and I presume cut all ties with it -, who is taking care of his faction and his part of the lore? I consider this necessary given I gotta stay in touch with whoever manages this, as well as Maggie shall stay in touch too.

Unfortunately, no. I've not heard from Holt, I'm afraid this arc may be dead-in-the-water as a result. I'll do what I can to get you all involved in something else when and where I can while continuing to reach out to him. A lot of the Pirat faction was done without informing me of anything, I honestly didn't know much of them until a random event I walked in on Holt doing. For that, I offer my apologies.

I wouldn't mind sharing all I know from the Pirats with you if that might help your work and maybe keep them alive. And its ok, I understand. I'm not thrilled with the idea of the arc dying but I understand ?

Hello MindGate! I bring you an update of the situation I think you will find pleasant and easy. After talking with Maggie we have decided to leave the background untouched and play the characters as if they lost all contact with the fleet and the Union.

Now, you are free to ask Holt and recover his faction, perhaps bring it up at some point. You are also free to ask me about it and I will tell you everything I know and you can work from there, as well as consult Recorder's background.

For now we deem this solution good for the three of us, one way or another.

Copy that. I apologize for the lack of response -- I've had a busy past few days. You can summarize everything you can about the faction to me and I'll see about considering fitting it back in at a later date. It'll depend, I regardless would like to know some about it, 'cause I can do some stuff with it in the future, even if its not major.
