Biography
Aklaq was born in 2006, in Canada. His childhood transcurred in Detroit suburbs until the apocalypse hit. His parents didn’t have too much money but were honest workers, her mother being a pure Inuit descendant and his father being afro-american. When the virus hit and his father disappeared while working during the stage of general confusion and fear, his mother - named Nakedra - fled Detroit with a pair of suitcases and him, up to Canada where her family took them into an Inuit community not far from the fontier, just 8 hours walking from it, and only one more hour from Detroit.
As time passed by, this community grew due to the fact that it also returned to the origins. To the very origins. In a few years the community degenerated into a pseudo-tribe which was at war with other groups in the area. The apparition of the mutant infected didn’t help much but only reinforced the primitive beliefs of the tribe and turned the rest of the remaining groups into more pseudo-tribes. Of course, the young and susceptive Aklaq believed in this as well. And this time was, in fact, when he was renamed as Aklaq by his great-grandfather: He gave him a war name, intending for him to be a warrior.
And he was trained as a warrior of the tribe in fact. Since he was barely 15, the young Aklaq was taught to shoot fire weapons, bows, crossbows, to fight with blunt and sharp melee - in quite a primitive style. He was taught warrior rituals, to call the spirits and to venerate all of the dead. Overall, Aklaq was kind of indoctrinated to be a tribesman only loyal to the tribe.
Luckily enough and with the arrival of the first CPF Rangers, the tribes saw the need to join forces into a great confederation. And so, the Ghost Wolves Confederation was created by 3 clans, meant to fight the southern invasor. They managed to grasp hold of Detroit and expand over a portion of Canada, and the Pact of Torngasak -The good spirit, who represents everything in nature good and helpful to man- seemed to not only be beneficial to hold the CPF in line but also to protect themselves from the horrors of the north as well as study them, some even venerated them as demons or spirits. The Confederation has learnt to deal with the common kinds of monsters and either take them down or mislead them, depending of the situation. Aklaq was taught, as part of his warrior training, to use such resources against this monsters and had the chance to try them a handful of times at the age of 19 along with the hunting party he was part of at that time.
Although there always were differences between the tribes they would usually resolve them by different kinds of trials and judgements that could - or not - end well for the accused persons. The stability between the tribes was - and is - good enough to keep them closely together back to back against anything that dares attack the Ghost Wolves.
Aklaq was 20, him and his mother - who was 39 by then - were instructed by the spirits to go and fight the Old World. And so they departed along with a group of other warriors to fight in Detroit. A year later their entire group of ambushers were surprised and destroyed, most of them shot dead and a few english-talkers were taken prisioners. Aklaq and Nakedra were taken to the CPF and interrogated. Odds were, however, that one of the Rangers - of name James Scott - took a corresponding liking on Aklaq’s mother. This mutual interest developed into a relationship soon enough and the man moved earth and sky to get them a refugee permission in exchange for information about Detroit and the Confederation’s interest in it. Turns out the Ghost Wolves’ interest was a strategic position to hold the CPF off and stop them going norther, and thus the center of Detroit became a no man’s land since.
Even with this new and mixed family, Aklaq was distrustful of the CPF and it took him a pair of years to fully integrate into its society again. Encouraged by his mother and step-father, the young man learnt to behave and move around Fairpoint and to learn from the CPF and their people. He ended up joining the Rangers relatively recently - at the beginning of the lore to be specific - to follow his step-father’s steps given he indeed became a referent for Aklaq. It is not until recently that he has finally graduated and has been declared a Junior Ranger of full rights
And his destiny was 2-15, given just before the bombing of Pittsford. Where his step-father was restocking.
Would you like your character to start with any items?
A bycicle with baskets, an AR15 in green-ish conditions named 'Aklaq's tribal AR15' ( if it could have a rifle sling to decrease the weight so it resembles the actual weapons with the wood furniture to be lighter, much appreciated), a box of ammo for the weapon, a pair of extra magazines, a baseball bat with screws named 'Aklaq's warclub', all the Ranger equipment - walkie-talking, backpack, MREs, canteen, licences, identifications.. I am a bit lost with the Ranger equipment specifics so I leave that to you guys! -, a bit of gold ( maybe 12 gold coins? ) and a hunting knife.
