Darrell is a cynical person who secretly wishes to be altruistic. He is introverted and easygoing, but is extremely hard on himself. He is quietly intuitive and makes quick judgements about people. The apocalypse has made him a tiny bit neurotic and it takes a while for him to trust others now. He used to be very friendly and popular, but that part of him has died after his wife's death.
Character Motivations
While Darrell is cynical, he wishes to help others who show humility toward life. "There are too many selfish people in the world, and I might be one of them. I don't want to be, but i probably am". Darrell wants to redeem his selfish qualities by finding a higher purpose in helping certain people: Those who deserve it. He stays away from drama, but when he does get involved, he goes all in.
Physical Appearance
Darrell is 6'2'' 190 pounds, athletic build, he has brown hair and brown eyes. He has long lean legs built for running but not much for lifting. He has a permanent 5 o'clock shadow and a serious look on his face most of the time. He doesn't do fashion and wears whatever fits him comfortably "function over looks". Since he is alone, he doesn't clean himself often and always has dirt on his face and clothes.

Biography
Before the apocalypse, Darrell was highly involved with his community and helped with the local Boy-Scout troop events. Darrell used to be religious before his wife died, and then everything went down hill. His faith has diminished but his hope in humanity and a God have never been stronger (even though he doesn't show it often). Darrell is mentally strong, but frequently blames himself for his wife's death. People did not know that his marriage was rocky before she died. She was struggling with anger issues and had an abusive personality. After her death, Darrell struggled to think highly of her, and this was the source of his guilt. If anything were to destroy him, it would be this guilt. As Darrell wrestles with his wife's death and with his faith in a God, he looks for meaning in life. Many people looked up to him because of his "quiet strength", but he doesn't believe he can be that 'pillar of hope' for others to lean on anymore. People don't really understand why. This has lead him to a solitary life, away from the people that he used to love and haunted by his past that he has not told anybody about.
