Character Motivations
Otis is a bit of a wayfarer by nature . A hiker in the world before and a transient in what remains . He keeps moving to outrun himself but no matter where he goes ... there he is . Motivation - To believe in himself again

Red unkempt knotted hair pulled back in a loose ponytail at the base of his neck . A bushy red beard the climbs high up his cheeks and hangs low to his chest . A gruff demeanor with a gentle face .

Biography
Otis was born a healthy happy and hearty baby boy , He spent his years as a child playing in the creek behind his house peaking his interest in the natural world at a early age . He grew up on a farm working hard and playing harder . He grew up fast , with a quick temper and hellish right hand Otis was always fighting and making a problems for himself as a young man taking respite in whiskey and late nights . After years of learning hard and destroying his stomach via rot gut whiskey and questionable decisions Otis wised up . Spending time in the woods and wilderness calmed his mind that was haunted by a immoral past . He became a carpenter to help strengthen his bond with the forest . Otis lived well for years in the quiet of the woods . Otis was 31 years old when the first outbreaks of redeye began. Now there are few people in this world Otis holds dear first and foremost on that list his mother , a sweet women who had moved to Maine years earlier to continue seeding her joy of organic farming and open spans of land . As the reports grew more dire over the initial weeks of the illness Otis began forming a plan , a plan to head north to check the well being of his mother . With all forms of mass transit shut down and the world quickly falling farther and faster into chaos Otis knew he would have to make this trip on foot ( Nothing he hadnt done before , at 22 he had hitchhiked there to help on the farm ). Nothing could have prepared Otis for the horrors he met on the road . What should have been a 6 month walk at most had turned to years ... lost in the violence and chaos of the new world Otis became someone else . A cruel man , a man that couldn't trust himself let alone any other survivors he met . It had been 4 years since Otis had originally left the midwest following the highways north . 4 long hard years had taken their toll , Otis knew his mother had to be dead by this point but he kept his pilgrimage alive in hopes that he may see her again one day. Otis's struggles only grew harder as the years continued to pass and man continued to fall further and further from grace . In PA Otis was captured and enslaved by tribal remnants controlling the city of Washington , he would spend another 4 years under their oppression until one night what always happens happened when the makeshift camp was overrun by the infected . In the chaos , screaming and smoke of the undead invasion Otis sprang to action collecting traveling gear food and a crowbar as to make his escape and push past this hellish place at what ever cost . The next 6 years of Otis's life have been spent painfully , a wanderer who had lost his way could now only survive in this cruel cold place . In the 6 years of wandering Otis would do his best to help who he could . Ambush , capture and kill would be raiders ... sometimes he would be on the other side of this ... a man has to eat. He got back on the bottle and mass spans of time couldnt be accounted for due to his drunken state . Eventually making his way to New York state ... just another miserable place ... full of miserable things .
