≫ WHAT'S UP WITH GATEWAY ROLEPLAY? ≪

  • We've been radio silent for a long time now. We posted an announcement in our Discord server back in April of 2025, but never updated the forums. So what's up with Gateway Roleplay?

    After 5 long years, we've decided to place the development of Ties That Bind on an indefinite hold.

    This doesn't mean it's cancelled. We fully intend to run Ties That Bind: What Lies Beneath and Ties That Bind: City of Angels eventually. But to do so, we need to take a step back. In the meantime, we'll be working on smaller, invite-only projects.

    Thank you to everyone who has stuck with us this long! MindGate and I (Pika) have been working on this server for over a decade now. It truly is a passion project for us.

It's a Christmas Miracle we're alive!

For all the admins at Gateway we hope you are all having a wonderful time this holiday season. Please feel free to share in the comments what makes this time enjoyable for you.. Or perhaps.. A challenge for all you RPers new and old no matter what kind of character you played or what lore you were in. Think of your favorite character that you've played and if there's multiple that works to, now tell us how would they have spent the holidays either during an apocalypse or not. Would they celebrate Christmas? Hanukkah? Kwanzaa?

In regards to Gateway as a whole we hope you've been enjoying the open server and we thank you for bearing with us as we figure out things for the upcoming RP. We have some things in the works and we will be calling on your input in an upcoming post. But for now enjoy yourselves with a little creative writing challenge to help you get excited for some good old fashioned Zombie RP!

I used to RP alot a long time ago. My favorite character I played was Logan Bastion. When's there gonna be another Lore cuz I will totally play

We are currently working on another lore for the animations update yes. However, we also do have something else we are trying to plan that will need player input with. There will be another post in the near future about all of that once the finalize the draft for it, this post was just made for a little bit of fun and to tease at some stuff.

So tell me Nitro. How would Logan celebrate the holidays? Would he even celebrate at all? If you want to make up a fun story about it then go for it. That is more what this post is trying to do it is to get people thinking of their characters again and perhaps even thinking about them in new lights.

I gotta say best time I had was when Tanya, Raf, Miller, and a few others had a Christmas party. Exchanged presents and all. All around pretty good.

During "The Road Ahead" lore, my character David Clarke threw a Mongol Christmas party in his room. Stocked with booze, food, and everything in between.

One of the more memorable and sort of touching moments for Christmas was during the Bartertown Lore where our characters melted down into children as a snowball fight erupted outside of the bar after especially trying times. It was right before my character Damion Jay was killed in an event a few weeks later, the snowball fight being one of my favorite memories with him.

Here's to a new decade of roleplay and many more Christmas's on New Dawn!

It was so genuinely sweet too, the fight just came out of no where and was super cheerful and happy.

I thinnnk I was on as Leo when this happened, I miss the bartertown days. Was always either fucked up or wholesome.
