Character Name
Rook

Yes
Has this character appeared in a previous lore?
No
Age
25
Blood Type
O neg
Personality
Rook is a quiet man with little desire to provoke conflict, he speaks of peace and tolerance as was taught by The Mother Crow. Though this is mostly a facade, inside is a deep set anger with the world and it’s often hostile inhabitants. Though he manages to skillfully quell his ill tempered side through meditation. When with his fellow crows he is fairly cordial, they’re the only family he has left after all. Which makes the act of a deviation from the path of The Mother Crow deeply personal. He does not hold back when eliminating those who’ve marred the title of Crow.
Character Motivations
Rook is wandering with his companion Whisper, seeking out their true fate. He personally wants to release the anger and pain he’s felt for years. If possible, he wants to bring their cause to the next level and convert more to the path of The Mother Crow.
Physical Appearance
Height: 5’10”
Weight: 160lbs
Rook has dark forest green eyes and slightly weather-beaten face. His hair is a rich brown tone, kept short so as not to get in the way. Rook’s hands are callused and have old scars littered about. Hidden below his attire are even more scars speckling his arms, legs and back. His posture changes significantly depending on the setting. While in public with non-crows his posture is held high, exuding confidence towards those skeptical of his kind. However while in the wilderness and barren lands he’ll adopt a more hunched over and tense posture.
Apparel:
Rook is almost always draped in a short dark hooded cloak and face covering to protect against infected blood and the elements. He keeps his feet dry with brown knee high boots. Beneath his cloak he wears a mix match of different denims, that work well to hide a slim vest of ballistic plates. On his back is his rucksack, his preferred long range weapon is also kept slung over a shoulder for quick access. Located on his hip is a sheathed short sword.

Biography
Dwight Hower was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico on August 1st, 2003. He grew up in relative poverty with both his parents working several different day jobs. When Dwight was 5 his mother died after a short battle with leukaemia. Around this time his father lost his job and began drinking frequently. To financially keep their heads above water, his father began robbing jewelry stores and houses with some old friends from high school.
Red Eye appeared when Dwight was just 13. His father and him spent the better part of a year travelling and keeping their distances from hordes. They stayed with larger groups, finding strength in numbers for almost two years. However sometimes numbers just aren't enough. Ambushed and ransacked by bandits the little bit of structure and safety he knew was torn away, Dwight lost everything in two long hours of suffering. He’d spend several months as a child slave, passed around and abused by different bandit groups. Starved, beaten and violated, his will to live deteriorated day by day. But then, with a stroke of luck a little known group of “crows” was contracted to wipe out the bandit group that was imprisoning Dwight. By sheer luck, he was freed by The Mother Crow and given place within their ranks. He was called Little Crow for some time, but as he grew older he took the name Rook.
Rook would show his complete devotion to the cause throughout the next decade. Completely several dozen contracts alongside his adopted family. He was trained in the use of firearms and the recurve bow. His training included lessons in the US Marine Corp martial arts by an ex-drill sergeant turned Crow. Since their main occupation was that of the mercenary those around Rook made practice a priority. Alongside their militaristic training regime, he was taught to live off the land and hunt with efficiency.
As time passed and he inched closer and closer to becoming one of the revered Men with Wings. He and the rest of the nomadic Crows made their way northeast across the states. However as he and his companions reached Cleveland, Ohio he split off on his own. As they travelled he grew discontent, he felt as though his presence was needed elsewhere. So Rook wandered, seeking out whatever fated him. Just a month ago he met Whisper, another “Lost Crow” with an interesting little voice in her head. The two have watched each other’s back thus far and appear to be heading towards Monroe County, New York.
