≫ WHAT'S UP WITH GATEWAY ROLEPLAY? ≪

  • We've been radio silent for a long time now. We posted an announcement in our Discord server back in April of 2025, but never updated the forums. So what's up with Gateway Roleplay?

After 5 long years, we've decided to place the development of Ties That Bind on an indefinite hold.

This doesn't mean it's cancelled. We fully intend to run Ties That Bind: What Lies Beneath and Ties That Bind: City of Angels eventually. But to do so, we need to take a step back. In the meantime, we'll be working on smaller, invite-only projects.

Thank you to everyone who has stuck with us this long! MindGate and I (Pika) have been working on this server for over a decade now. It truly is a passion project for us.

Hey, sintax012! My name is Pika and I'll be reviewing your application today.

Before we can go any further with the application process, I need to address the most glaring issue: You haven't read the lore. At least, there are no mentions of it in Jorge's biography. But, luckily, you've already got a lot of great stuff down! You can easily add to what you've written so far. A few sentences will suffice, I just need to know that you've read the lore and a general idea of how Jorge has fared this whole time. Note that we're ~14 years into the apocalypse now, so Jorge would be 37 or 38. He could also have been younger at the start. Whichever you'd like to do. You can read the lore here.

Once you've made those additions, just reply to bump the thread and we can continue with the application process. Thanks!

You still haven't read the lore. The lore takes place in 2028 (now 2029) in Monroe County, New York. That's approximately where Rochester is, near the US-Canada border. Please make sure to read the lore, then update your biography accordingly.

Hi again! Due to inactivity, I'm going to have to deny your application.

You're free to apply again with the same character if you'd like. Thanks!
