Nikolai is a reserved, humble, calm, and wise man... when he is sleeping or sober. However, most of the time people find him to be a tactless, hotheaded grouch. Despite this, those that find themselves in his good grace will find him to be a helpful ally, and even a concerned friend.
Character Motivations
Nikolai is driven by his quest for power and wealth primarily, but can also find satisfaction in aiding in the success of a group. This is not to say he's above leaving people for dead. Nor is he above the selfish nature of man. He would die for his friends nonetheless.
Physical Appearance
Nikolai is six feet tall, weighing about 200 pounds, with a lean/muscular build. He has a shaved head and face, though perhaps not recently. His face is often stern, and his posture uninviting. One word that comes to mind when looking at him for the first time may be "Soviet."

Biography
Nikolai was an infamous criminal before the fall, whose crimes crossed international lines more often than not. He was known to have supplies weapons and explosive devices to several terrorist organizations, namely the IRA and Taliban.
Nikolai was heavily involved with rebels in Chechnya, and narrowly escaped both death and capture on numerous occasions. In the final months of life in the real world, he spent his time in hiding in remote Canada. He was correct in thinking they wouldn't look for him there.
It would be a few more months before he realized there was no longer anybody to come looking. Over the course of the next decade, he watched the rise and fall of many men-- some by his hand. As the years drag on, he has begun to yearn for something more... stable. Permanent, perhaps. Nikolai is tired of rebuilding.
Something that will stand for ages to come-- a legacy, a home, a family. Whatever it may be, Nikolai wants it. And he has never stopped short of his goals before.
